I've watched multiple training videos and interviews since Van Gaal has been here and I'm going to stay up late to watch a pre-season game. That's the difference right there. I'd be hibernating until the start of the season if Moyes was still here. Van Gaal has lifted the whole club.

When LVG calls its quits I want Giggs to test himself as head coach somewhere else while we give the job to someone like Klopp. After the Moyes debacle we should NEVER take these sorts of risks again.

If last season showed us anything, its that a club of this size needs a proven manager, at the top level. No more gambles.

What reasons are there for giving Giggs the job? I mean apart from sentimental reasons.
If he was to go off now and get a championship club promoted and keep them in the PL, with good football etc, all while LvG is busy here then you could understand. But he's going to get no real experience due to being No. 2. He hasn't done enough to be considered imo, you can't just 'groom' someone for the role.

I'm not against Giggs taking over in the future, once he's proven himself as a manager. But the club seem to want him to take over directly after Van Gaal, which would be a massive risk, and imo, a disaster waiting to happen.
Would be a bad decision imo. Managers should be selected for football, rather than romantic reasons.

Giggs apparently would have made Ferdinand United's number 1 centre-back for next season if he was in charge. If we go for him with Klopp available, I'll kill myself.
Hopefully Giggs will bridge the gap between the cultural differences, and be a shoulder to cry on for some of the players from time to time. I would be astonished if Giggs didn't learn anything from this experience as a new coach under van Gaal. Gary Neville's analysis next season is going to be interesting also.

This is a forum, where people look at pictures with different interpretation and sometimes its a bit of fun to talk about them, sometimes not. People have different opinions about the summer tour for sure.
Shit, I remember hearing all sorts from United fans in 2005, "Keane will take over from Fergie surely!", while Keane did gain Sunderland promotion, United is a different scale. Shit even Moyes was one of the best managers in the league, United is a different story altogether. Guardiola is an anomaly, if you listen to him talk, his philosophy, his intelligence comes across, Giggs was just spouting clichés

This, it's the individual and nothing to do with their rep as a player. Guardiola was studying to be a coach well before his career had ended, and used to regularly fly over to fecking Argentina every other weekend to discuss tactics with Juan Lillo, he was praised as a student of the game from all corners. Giggs just seems a bit of a flat personality, with a limited interest in what it is that makes a coach, rather than what makes a player. Perhaps an unfair judgement but it's the feeling I get from him.
Errrm, last season we gave the biggest job in football to a manager who's never won anything or managed in the CL.
Yes there is always a risk, but appointing someone with a proven record will significantly reduce that risk.
