Film The Movies I want to see thread

A jaded Japanese woman discovers a hidden copy of Fargo (1996) on VHS, believing it to be a treasure map indicating the location of a large case of money.

Tree of Life is one of the most ambitious, beautiful films ever made. To not like it is to miss out. I think some of the space scenes were "man-made," too, as in no CGI. I love that.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that was the last film I actually bought. Shiiiiiit.

Yeah I can understand that. I quite liked it but I'm a sucker for Malick. Absolutely hated the ending. Completely fecked up there, for me.

Out of interest, why? The whole film was a spiritual odyssey, and the ending was the perfect culmination of the entire experience. I don't think it was overtly religious, if that's your issue.

Nah it wasn't so much the spiritual aspect of it, I was sucked into the rest of it with no reservations, but I felt the ending was some kind of New Age bullshit philosophy that took me out of it completely. As you say, the film is a spiritual odyssey and only works if you're engrossed by what's going on, which was fine for the most of the film but I just disconnected with the ending. It didn't feel like 'the perfect culmination' for me, but it's highly subjective so I could understand why others wouldn't be bothered by it.

Wooow it looks amazing doesn't it.
I'm a sucker for these kind of war films. Have you seen 'Brothers' with Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire? Great film, watch it if you haven't seen it yet. Tobey Maguire's strongest ever performance imo. He actually looks like an actor in it.

I'll definitely check it out. I love psychological thrillers and it looks my cup of tea.

Yep that's a really good film

Foxcatcher trailer got me excited! Incredible true story and Steve Carrel looks unrecognizable!

Was looking okay then Rousey pops up on screen, roll eyes. They waited long enough to make the film, hope it does the show some justice.

Same here. I just hope they don't ruin it with the too many cameos they're lining up, especially from irrelevant celebrities who nobody gives a shit about. They also need to return Ari's balls. That final season was just painful to watch.

New Antman trailer is out;

Looks like it's gonna be big.
