There are players like Alexis, Di Maria and Cazorla, who love running with the ball and dribbling past three or four players. These are the ones that catch the eye. Özil has always been a passer. He rarely holds on to the ball longer than he needs to and performs well in teams set up to pass and move. I've always felt that he's tidy in possession and plays the most perfectly weighted passes in the PL. Some of his passes yesterday were so nicely weighted. He always gets the ball exactly where players want it. It's great to see.
People love watching the dribblers and those guys look better on TV, but Özil has managed to contribute more to our goals "without doing anything" in so many games than most other players in the PL have for their teams. It's hilarious to see the same old stereotypes being bandied about here. Someone even said he wasn't watching Arsenal players during the game and yet concluded that he didn't do much last night. Being involved in almost all our attacks isn't good enough even in low-scoring games. Not even sure what to say to these people.
