Guardiola insults medical staff | Medical team resigns

Oh i don't doubt that at all. You'd know more about that than me. Im just specifically talking about that clip only. Im very convinced he wasn't facing towards the medical team. It would have been apparent even on a 240x240 resolution. Behind the doors i have no idea what happened. But Pep has always been an oddly animated character on the sidelines with over exaggerated gestures and expressions.

Catalonia is famous for it's theaters, is it not?

Do I think Guardiola should resign over this? No.
Do I think Guardiola should be fired over this? No
Do I think Bayern will fire Guardiola over this? No, clearly Guardiola is more worth to the club
Can managers be fired for pulling stunts like this? Yea why not, if the results were dire and say Bayern were second or third, absolutely.

Anyone finding camera angles to justify Guardiola couldn't have meant it, are smoking what Raheem Sterling is smoking. That's shocking, he acts like a total dick. I don't think he's a bad guy, but he has lost it in this instance.

I don't care if Pep is a bad guy or a nice guy. My only concern is this clip. There's enough evidence he didn't do it to the medical team's staff. Anyone who thinks otherwise despite the pictures and clip posted is simply delusional or biased.

I was looking at this youtube video as i can't play vine on redcafe for some reason. I can play it on my vine app though.

Between this and the vine clip it really doesn't look to me like he turns right. If its not clear then its all the more reason to give him the benefit of doubt. If it was indeed aimed at the medical team then would that not be so insulting that they'd resign after the game instead of waiting for two more games? Im not convinced. I think people are desperately trying to create something that doesn't exist.

Even if the doctor isn't the target, then Sammer or the other two are, is that less shocking ?

When i saw that scene on TV watching the match live, i read it as "yo boys, we have an injured player in the cabin, someone wanna move his ass and look after him..?!" - i remember because i was unsure whether he had taken out Benatia for tactical or for medical reasons.

Even if the doctor isn't the target, then Sammer or the other two are, is that less shocking ?

Yes because they are his assistant coaches. He could simply been expressing his frustration in his usual over exaggerated manner to his coaches or to Sammer. Who knows what he was saying. Does anyone remember LVG shouting at Gigg's face?

Is this the doctor that Bolt goes to, that uses a lot of unproven alternative methods?
Yep. And lots of top class athletes. Must be doing something good with Usain's back. Bolt suffers from scoliosis, and this doctor's done wonders for him.

No and it's probably wrong but we don't know the back story to it.

i can see this from all sides really.

Firstly, I see a really frustrated coach who is a notorious perfectionist, momentarily losing his cool. Stop the press.

Secondly, we can't really tell who that is aimed at, if indeed it is aimed at anyone. It's all conjecture and speculation.

Thirdly, if I was the subject of this sort of public ire, I would be extremely annoyed, especially as a seasoned professional.

Fourthly, we don't know what has been going on behind the scenes. It's not the first time MW has quit. Great doctor by all accounts, but sounds a bit precious.

Fifthly, Bayern is a very political club full of opinionated personalities. This goes back to the last point. Other people may be involved in this debacle.

And finally, it's easy to judge from the comfort of an armchair. When you live your life under the watchful gaze of TV cameras, it's hard not to ever make a mistake. Lots of people came in here quick to get the knives out, without knowing the facts. Smacks of personal bias rather than reasonable judgement.

A sensible post. Get out! :D

Well if it's fine to act like a bell-end towards subordinates, everything is okay then.

Edit: By the way I don't think that we should hold it against him, stress can make you do stupid things and he is still young and learnin', only 6 or 7 years of coaching.

Wtf? What enough evidence? Based on camera angles? The vine's video angle is from the other side of the camera. I can't believe that you are accusing others of 'bias' and 'delusion' when there's a grown man, who is the best in the business throwing a strop and acting like a dick. Do you support Barcelona as well?

Seems to me he's just making fun of the dire situation to his staffs. It's like you're rolling your eyes facing your mates, when your boss giving a completely BS statement during a speech.

 this is basically the only point of you on this forum. The guy who calls everyone biased.

What evidence do you have that he was aiming his tirade towards the medical staff? The doctor by the way is to the right of pep, left of Sammer. And i have 3000 plus posts, you can find out for yourself how many were posted in a Barca thread.

WTF

It's in Spanish, but it's him mad at Porto gardeners on the day before the match. He then teaches them to do their job. On one of the best pitches you can find.

Come on, now. Every doctor thinks that those who use homeopathy are charlatans.

What Pep did wasn't right. But we don't know what was going behind the scenes, so I can't judge more Pep than being a bit childish. If this doctor gave honey to injured players and said to Pep that they're fit to play, and this caused the injury crisis, then Pep has every right to be nervous.

Revan I'm not sticking up for homeopathy just merely pointing out that honey has an evidence base and is used mainstream for treating wounds.

At the very most you could argue that the footage is inconclusive, in no way can you say it proves Pep didn't address the medical team. Come on.
Seems pretty clear to me (looks better on the phone than on pc btw) but ok fine lets say it's inconclusive. I can accept that. Definitely not enough proof for this embarrassing witch hunt though.

I deleted it because the picture you posted afterwards seems to support your theory. The point about the video still stands though, it's inconclusive.

Fair enough mate. Inconclusive it is.

To be fair, judging by the reaction of the gardeners, I think he is just having a laugh with them more than anything.

I think that they are making fun of him.

That's what it seemed to me at first, and he then calls the UEFA representative (the guy he asks "are you sleeping"?) to complain. Still somewhat light-hearted, probably some jokes in the middle of all the arm flailing, but I find it odd to see an outside coach ordering employees of my club like if he owns the place. Is it his business how our grass is treated as long as it conforms to rules?

Yeah, I don't think that Guardiola acts badly, he is just being really intense and obsessive, he was describe like that at Barcelona, that's why he needed a sabbatical, the man is too involved.

Sarcastic clapping is a red card offence. Lucky not to have been banned for the season, IMO.

He and Barca players used to have moan about grass levels and pitch condition on other grounds as well even though they used to be within rules. It is laughable. I would want my club guys to tell him to feck off and mind his own business if he is interfering like that.

There are very poor pitches around and it's normal that managers and players complain about them, particularly in top competitions.
