Let's assume we persist with Smalling and Jones. Next season when we don't have De Gea to cover their arses, people will see that they aren't exactly special. Let alone being better than Ramos, as some are suggestingSome are scared that Smalling "magnificent in the second part of season" and the new Duncan Edwards will both end up warming the bench next season just as when United actually had two world class CBs in the team
For real?Let's assume we persist with Smalling and Jones. Next season when we don't have De Gea to cover their arses, people will see that they aren't exactly special. Let alone being better than Ramos, as some are suggesting
Go to the coast and shut yourself off from the rumours when you come back we'll have signed Ramos, Lloris, Schneiderlin, Turan and Fabinho
Who's this? I'm sold on the name!![]()
José Ángel Sánchez tried to rebuild bridges within the club, asking for the hostile environment to be minimised and that the player's entourage put an end to the rumours. The disagreements will no longer be broadcast. Both parties agreed to continue talks in a calmer manner.
I think the club is playing this pretty well, actually. We're not in a strong negotiation position with De Gea's contract running down so we can't really demand a lot of money for him - we're not going to get that. So I think it's well played to say, you can have him, but only if we get one of your best players. Under normal circumstances Real would never sell Ramos to us but they're desperate enough to get DDG right now. I think it's pretty clever from the club but if we pay 45 million for a 29-year-old who's not Ronaldo/Messi then it doesn't look very clever anymore.
Ah, the improved deal is on the way then.
That is the sound of inevitability.
Surely we just wouldn't bid 32m for him without assurances? Woodwood has learned after the Fabregas shite right? The thing is, the article states that Ramos and Madrid met yesterday and tension "fell".
However, this is also the same meeting I presume where all the other media outlets reported that Ramos told Madrid that he wants to leave.
Marca are known propagandists for Madrid. So wouldn't at all be surprising if they massaged the truth somewhat.

Dunno, but when you get one source going against the grain, then you have to think they have some sort of inside knowledge I suppose. Why are people taking Marca's word as gospel?
I'm absent mindedI have poor eyesight. What's your excuse![]()
I thought plenty of journos have reported it?Is there any solid evidence that we've even made a bid? as in, any reliable sources reporting it?

Independent, Mirror, Mail and Express all saying it. Telegraph just chimed in as well: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...illion-bid-for-Real-Madrids-Sergio-Ramos.htmlIs there any solid evidence that we've even made a bid? as in, any reliable sources reporting it?
We have been quick to squash rumours in the past mate, there is definitely something in this from our part IMO.I don't think we've bid anything. We are being used as a name again to get a better deal. The whole point of the fallout is Ramos isn't happy with the new contract offer.
Same paper have claimed we've made bids for all sorts of players that the club has later denied we were even interested in them.Independent, Mirror, Mail and Express all saying it. Telegraph just chimed in as well: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...illion-bid-for-Real-Madrids-Sergio-Ramos.html
Fabregas must have given us the go ahead too. Stayed mum during the entire month as well and came out with the "it's my home, would never think of leaving" shite after the window closed.
