The club have a contract ready for him and have at no point tried to force him to make a decision. With him unwilling to sign we have to decide what value we put on keeping him for the extra season, clearly at this moment of time Real Madrid aren't willing to put up the value we consider him worth. DDG is a human being and it's obvious that he would be affected by this, so if the manager believes that he is mentally not right then you have to trust his decision and accept it. Why would any replacement be brought in till we are certain about DDG leaving?
That is why the big boys get big money: to make those decisions. If De Gea isn't 'focused' and remains that way till the the end of his contract than we are the ones fecked. It's August 7th, the seasons starts tomorrow and we have to deal with goalkeeping situation now, which should have been resolved a lot earlier instead of us trying to enter a dick measuring contest with Madird from a much weaker position.
We should have taken the decision either way. I am sure it wasn't yesterday that De Gea got up from the bed and said, no, I don't feel like it. We have known the situation since the end of the season, and would have no one but ourselves to blame.
