Bundesliga 2015/2016

Although we have a better team than Stuttgart, I expect us to struggle a lot in this game. It's the time of the Hinrunde where teams which started early in the season (in BVB's case: Two rounds of EL qualification) often begin to lose it a bit, and I expect us to be no different.

I agree. cpt hindisght reporting in

Graefe with his usually inconsistent line of refereeing....

Dortmund with loads of sloppy passes and Stuttgart already had a couple of 1on1s for Werner which you really shouldn't give away when you're up a goal.

decent goal

Aubameyang's development has been so good, looks nothing like the hit and miss player of 13/14.

Was that really offside from Reus before Aubameyang's "would be" second goal? I thought they made the passive offside rule a lot more lenient for the "offender".

Aubameyang with his 24th goal of the season and it's still November

Dortmund has been a chance-creating machine this season, nothing like the team of last year.
Dortmund created many chances last season, among the most per game in the Bundesliga (bar Bayern), but had a ridiculously low conversion rate. This season the number of created chances has even increased though and our conversion rate is the best in the league.

Timo Werner is an extremely loyal home-grown product of Stuttgart's. He has resisted so far any offers he has received, and instead renewed his contract without an exit clause in case of Stuttgart's relegation.

How is that not a penalty? What the feck? I mean Niedermeyer ignores the ball and goes straight for the man?!

I'm so done being screwed over by the refs. Get the fecking video evidence now!

Dortmund's chance wasting tonight is again on a different level. Even if the ref robbed them of a pen, their shitty finishing is letting them down again and they could easily be at 5 goals right now if they wouldn't need so god damn many chances to find a goal.

While not being as visible as usual Mkhitaryan's workrate is phenomenal for an offensive player. Everywhere on the pitch.

Yeah, finishing has been very bad today, especially in the second half (as well as in Hamburg), but in general their conversion rate is among the best of the league.

That's a breakdown of some stats as of matchday 12:
http://constantineckner.com/2015/11/performance-index-bundesliga-after-matchday-12/

It's quite interesting and the third diagram shows that Dortmund are (or were) the team with the best shots taken per goal ratio.

Aubameyang with his second, nice low finish with his left foot. Good to see he can use that left foot when necessary.

Ffs, what's that now, 17 goals in 14 league games? I'm starting to worry about Gerd Müller's record :(

I was really impressed with Castro tonight. Is he a regular now?

He's basically their 12th man, but I think Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus is probably still Dortmund's first lineup.

He is basically our 12th player, but with his versatility to play four positions (both CAM and both wings) he will get plenty of playtime given the sheer load on games we play. Has become immensively important for us.

After watching the first halfs in the conference I have a hard time believing that each of these four teams represent the league internationally. Augsburg decent, Leverkusen okaish, Schalke and Wolfsburg really really poor. A third top team would be good for the league but so far in this season the only hope for that would be Gladbach's somehow continuing to grow and not lose their top player in the process.

Don't worry, we're back next year!
;-)

Kudos to the team, well done. Before today - and I doubt it has changed - Dortmund had the best conversion rate in the Bundesliga (data from Opta, including all shots, stripping off penalty shots and own goals for obvious reasons) and the worst in allowing opponents to convert shots to goals.
I'm not sure about the shots on target; we somewhere among the top 4 but not the best.

:lol::lol::lol:

And the Oscar for the worst play acting of the season goes to Bobadilla, who fakes a hit to the head and gets Dante sent off the pitch.

Luck is also finally running out for Schalke, who simply don´t deserve to win this game. 1-1 with an OG by Riether.

Overall, terrible games, though.

Schalke is the only club that can potentially become Germany's 3rd big club. Wolfsburg and Leverkusen are simply limited by their pitiful match-day and merchandising revenues. This will never change. It's also one of the reasons why I question 50+1 in its current form with all those exceptions. B04 and Wolfsburg are in my view limiting the potential for growth at the top in the Bundesliga.

For the sake of the league as a whole I hope Heidel can help Schalke establish itself as the third pillar of German football. It's certainly the task of a life-time for him if he accepts the job.

Leverkusen gets what from Bayer? €25m per year? That's not exactly an astronomical sum, especially if you factor in that their close link to Bayer makes them quite undesireable for other sponsors and most fans who have Cologne and Gladbach to pick if they are from the region, as well as all the Ruhr area clubs who are just little over an our long train ride away..
Any of the bigger clubs should have no problem at all overtaking them if they sort out their management.
Wolfsburg is a different story, but first of all they have never made full use of their financial potential aside from maybe last season and that one season under Magath and secondly the VW affair might have taken care of them already.

That's hardly enough reason for me to overthrow 50+1, especially with shitty clubs like Ingolstadt, Hoffenheim or Leipzig already (about to be) in the top flight. Hannover will be the next exception and what's happening there doesn't look encouraging either.
