Zinedine Zidane | Resigns

As Zidane and Giggs have already been judged as probable managerial failures by most of the Caf , what if they both turned out to be very good managers, just saying like....
This! I can't believe how many people are writing him off before he's even started!

Some bloke on Sky Sports said Zidane was not much of a coach and would not get too involved in training/tactics. Any way this can be true?
El Confidencial wrote months ago a very hard article about Zidane, saying that was a terrible coach (comparing him to Maradona). According to the article some players said that the experience with Zidane in Castilla wasn´t nice. Let´s hope that is not truth

:wenger: He scored 2 goals for you in the world cup final!

Because the corners were superbly taken, his bald head just happened to be on the trajectory.

I'm kidding he was a great player but I don't really like him.

Wait, what? I really like Zizou, but I hope this goes terribly.

What are the objectives. Or put another way, what will have to happen for him to get fired?

I think he will have to be given extra leeway than the likes of recent managers who got fired for daring to win the league!

He will struggle in the early months, doubt Madrid will win the league anyway.

I couldn´t imagine that, however it seems that L´Equipe is loving it
Top 10 stories on lequipe.fr are about his appointment at Real.

Good luck to him, he will need some.

What do Madrid fans on here think of this? It has similarities with United appointing Giggs, if anything probably makes it more likely as Woody will want to emulate Barca/Pep and Madrid/Zidane.

The situations are remarkably similar! And yes, I think it will give Woodward more confidence to appoint Giggs.

Will be fascinating to see how it works out in first few months.

I think that if he does a decent end of season, fighting for la liga without the sloth of previous weeks will be the manager next season.2016/17 should be more complicate for him

True that he may have more experience (though not enough for the main team) but Giggs has took charge of a few games and knows the club. He will be backed by everyone internally and Ferguson. He's worked with Van Gaal who has put him forward.

Whilst it doesn't make sense to you, to Woody he may well have a strong belief in him getting those results alongside his unmatched financial power allowing him to sign any player - again in his head. He's clearly being groomed plus its the United way, whatever that means these days.

Edited, on a tablet.

It's nice of you to come and chat about Giggs, but shouldn't you be preparing tomorrow's training session?

Do you like Zidane?
Yes, I was a huge fan of him when playing for the national team, absolute French legend but didn't care much for what he did in foreign clubs (I like what he did at Bordeaux though).
And he seems a decent guy.

However him chosing to live in Madrid and represent Real after his career and taking the Marseille side in the OM-PSG rivalry leaves me indifferent about the rest of his career until he manages the French team (or PSG or OM who knows).

I see, I've always thought that he has no sportsmanship and therefore never liked him.

I bet half of the caf wants him to fail just so we can learn from their mistake and not appoint Giggs.

Finally the assistant will be Bettoni(they met in Cannes), Solari will go to Juvenil A

Anyone heard the rumour going about, that Real approached Pep to take over a few weeks ago..

One thing is for sure, he will undoubtedly have the respect of the players.

There would be a lot of sheepish word eating

Crazy club, 13 managers in 16 seasons? Madness..

They sacked Peligrini who had win ratio of 81.58% in 09/10 season! Ancellotti had a win ratio of 78.95% in 14/15, sacked.

That Perez lad is off his head, he's the Sepp Blatter of FC presidents.

I'd like to see Zidane do well, just because its Zidane, but I'd love him to fail just to see who they bring in next. Fat Ronaldo or someone lol

Listening to the radio today they were talking about how Zidane was a club legend and would have the respect of all the players, blah, blah, blah but had zero experience managing. Made me think of Giggs becoming the manager at United.
If Zidane can do it at that circus of a club, the board will be convinced Giggs can do it at United. One problem, the Real Madrid team can pretty much play itself excluding the ego's that cause the wheels to wobble. United won't have that caliber of a team. Not initially anyway.

Maybe perez is impotent now.

He used to be a 'player' when younger… fecking different models and actresses every week.

Now that he can't feck pussies anymore, he mind fecks football managers instead.

That would be quite a sight indeed

I always say that I appreciate that Real is a bit of a circus. If all they did was steamroll teams and sign top players they would be a lot less fun.

Hilarious - RM will gain a lot of new "followers" from the Caf, desperately scouring their results hoping they lose and that Zidane is a monumental failure because that would mean Giggs would be a monumental failure too.

Every defeat will be trumpeted as proof positive that Giggs would be a hopeless manager.

Two biggest clubs in the world.

Rafa - Games 25 - won 17 drew 5 lost 3, 68% win ratio - third in league, most goals in La liga and most shots on goal in Europe, into last 16 of CL....job lost.

LvG - Games 30 - won 14 drew 8 lost 8, 46% win ratio - fifth in league, lowest home goals in entire English league, worst December in club history, out of CL....job cushy.

got to feel a little sorry for the FSW

Since when does most shots on goal count as a positive stat for a Manager?
