Keeps It tidy
Hates Messi
I picked them to win the CL in October. Not giving up on that.
Mark of a great team to play that dreadfully against a top side and still turn around a deficit like that. But if they have that kind of 70mins against Barca or Real, it could get ugly.
You might be right. But Real Madrid are still the quickest team in transition. Bayern on an off day could be a perfect opponent for them.Real are really not that good they might be the 5th best team left in the competition. And Bayern might have just eliminated a stronger side(who beat Real last season).
An Atletico side that needed penalties to beat PSV.ehh, not impressed. If they face Real or Atletico, don't think they can win over 2 legs.

Isn't he just back from injury?Spot on. Real Madrid are nothing to be feared. They've of course got as much of a chance as any non-Barça side but they don't deserve to be in a tier above Bayern.
Why has Thiago been benched a lot lately, lack of form? Always impresses me.

Maybe, I don't follow Bayern that much, just seen him on the bench a few times lately.
With Thiago you should always assume he is just coming back from injury.
The first half was poor from him - struggled on the right and had a lot of his "Robben-eqsue" shots blocked. Played much better after Pep moved him centrallyHow good is Douglas Costa? Only watched from the 2nd half onwards, but I loved how he was demanding the ball all the time and leading their attacks.
Keaneesque performance from him - and against Juve too!Does anyone still think Vidal is a drunk? Because if he can play like that for 120 minutes while being a drunk, then I wonder how much he can do when he's sober. fecking epic performance by him, what a warrior. Really glad that I was completely wrong with my criticism about him after the first half of the season. He has been sensational in recent weeks and was outstanding in both legs against Juve.
Yeah i think Bayern can beat anyone. I would only have them underdogs against Barca. And not because Barca are better but more so because of the MSN upfront. An Atletico side that needed penalties to beat PSV.
More than capable of beating the two Madrid team who were both largely unimpressive.
Epic, epic tie. What a fecking rollercoaster both games were and both teams played at times brilliant football. Easily the best CL knockout tie since Robben's wondergoal against United in 2010. fecking awesome.Keaneesque performance from him - and against Juve too!
Congratulations btw, you must feel so good right now

Had some poorer matches and Vidal was in great form lately. If we play with Müller and Lewy - there is only two places in midfield.
Is Alonso essential?
Is Alonso essential?
i disagree. While the team won the CL under Heynckes, that was due to all players playing their hearts out for the coach in his last year, and to eradicate the disgrace of the home final loss the year before. It was sort of a once-in-a-lifetime effort, possibly unrepeatable under the same coach.but in all honesty, given the financial outlay, given the situation with German rivals and the team he inherited I think it's fair to say Pep hasn't made the progress Bayern expected
I am absolutely, completely biased so don't take me too seriously, but once again we came to live today once Alonso was out of our way. I know the entire team was crap and I know Juve went into their shell but good grief, we just looked so much sharper without him.... so no, I think he's not essential in any way.
only to Pep i guess. Didnt really had the chance to watch Bayern this season but whenever i watched them last season he was awful and if he wasnt at the club im pretty sure that Bayern would go all the way.
he sort of shares his job with Vidal, based on the opponent i recon. As Vidal seems finally to find his spot in the Bayern team, there is the luxury to not overplay Thiago so shortly after coming back from such a long injury period. Vidal certainly has the upper hand when there is very physical midfield battle to be expected. With Thiago you should always assume he is just coming back from injury.
Way more annoying than Alonso in the starting line-up is the fecking obsession with fullbacks cutting into CM and wingers staying wide. Both Ribery and Costa were isolated on the wing while Alaba and Lahm ran into a fecking crowded area where they couldn't influence the game. So stupid. There are opponents when it's an interesting tactical variation that makes sense, but today certainly wasn't one. In fact, it hurt us big time, because it's more difficult for the fullbacks to get back into their defensive shape.

He was absolutely fantastic in both legs against usHe's pretty crap now really. Was awful in his final season at Madrid - seemed to pick up again from all accounts at the start of his Bayern career but regressed again.
Don't think he should be playing as much as he is personally, Thiago is far better...If less disciplined admittedly.
