Europa League 2015/2016

Liverpool are always going to have a chance of winning in nearly every game they play. They have fast, tricksy forward players; this is why it's important we give Martial & Rashford their chance.

Nothing good ever comes from that cnut Cuneyt officiating.

Stunning comeback. Just got to hope they get knocked out in the next round...and this will just be a great game which ultimately led to nothing.

I've calmed down a bit. We're still shit at the back and make too many mistakes. We have a belief about us under Klopp though that makes me think we can always get a result. Origi was fantastic tonight and I thought Allen was a good sub to bring on. Lallana and Firmino were both poor and Milner should never be allowed near a corner flag again.

Bundesliga is a fecking joke.

Germans are notorious chokers, it´s just that they get to so many finals that nobody notices. :nervous: 13 semifinals, eight World Cup finals, "just" four wins. Six European Championship finals, three wins. Bayern five straight CL semifinals. Which year they did win? When they faced another German team.

Amazing that Sakho was slower than a United bus for Dortmund's 2nd, and then he scores a crucial goal.

I just hope Woody is watching this..it's his business, he's built it up commercially and it's these kind of nights that reap dividends as a businessman.

Again, the timing was right for Klopp and Liverpool. It's no fault of Woodward, United or LVG.

The ball is obviously in United's court. Mourinho is available, just like Klopp was for Liverpool. Circumstances were a bit different as Klopp took time off and wanted to go to a place where he could build a side knowing that it would take a year or two without Champions League and probably challenging for the title.

Most of the attention will be on Liverpool, but what about Dortmund? How big of a collapse is that? Arsenal-like, if not more?

@Lurpak99 told you, you seriously overrated this Dortmund. Spurs would have dealt with them if they played their full team and were motivated.

Maybe, but I do feel Dortmund became too complacent tonight, they should win this when you look at the team sheets.

Feck off Dortmund, seriously feck off.

Now Villarreal will hopefully stop them.

If we go with Giggs as our next manager, then we will get all the misery we deserve, I mean the club not us, but it will be us.

People keep banging on about Hummels; granted he's good with the ball, but he's been awful defensively in countless games I've seen him play. Not even close to Thiago Silva

Only Juventus have also lost more European Cup finals than them.

"But Giggs could do a Guardiola"....I'm with you though, it would be mental, not borderline, but straight mental if United appoint Giggs. Could you imagine his backroom staff?

I'm trying to convince myself that they'll go out in the 1/2 finals, but they could go all the way with such spirit and determination.

Still can't believe Dortmund managed to bottle it, but football is fecking cruel sometimes.

disagree?
Yeah. They're not the team to beat next season. You think they'll be the team to beat?

Klopp is good. Liverpool are lucky to have him in their current predicament. He should have got a top tier job, the timing suited Liverpool.

But they are not the team to beat next season, not in the premiership at least.

I have been surprised by Origi recently. Always though he was a bit of a donkey but he looks to have some real potential. Where has Markovic gone BTW?

Yep, Liverpool definitely hit the jackpot with him. He's a better signing than Suarez and Torres combined.

Wel at least he doesn´t randomly start playing volleyball in big games like Thiago Silva. But yeah Hummels is a bit overrated. Much like with Germany you can also see with Bayern what a boss Boateng is. He might do some dumb shit every 15-20 games and get put on his ass by Messi once or twice, but then there are games like the World Cup final, where the only time Messi appeared from the shadows of Boateng was to pick up his player of the tournament trophy.

Pretty much yep. Very prone to defensive mislaps.

Fair enough...but they will probably be more the team to beat than we will as it stands at the moment.....

Germany 4 out of 8 and 3 out of 6 plus bayern 5 out of 10 is actually exactly what you would expect. Juventus 2 out of 7(8?) isnt, Madrid 10 out of 11(or sth like that) isn't either.

Real is in their 6th straight semifinal now btw

True

I know it's been mentioned several times over the past years, but it does highlight the lack of genuinely world class centre backs in the game right now.
