Rashford, Smalling and Shaw are all at least as good as any other British player right now.

I can't see any scenario where Pogba would "only want to come to us". Madrid are a more stable team right now and the Champions of Europe. There were rumors earlier in the summer that he wanted Madrid anyway so I don't think there would be an issue for him to go there. Not sure if Raiola would want him to go there though. Either way, I couldn't care less where he turns up this summer.

And United might not mind the story - after all the pro madrid talk....It might suit both sides but I think this has been done a good while ago. It 'forces' our hand and it shows people he's more then happy to sign and not 'desperate' for them lot - as some make it sound.

Pogba has a chance to establish himself as THE player at THE Club. He had a taste of the largest club in the world in the most competitive league in the world in his teenage years. He's no daft kid. PLUS who was his roommate at Euros...none other than Captain Pat Evra.
In two years time, Pogba could be the main man with Martial, his fellow Frenchman and a former United trainee he crossed paths with many times during his United youth, one Marcus Rashford. Oh and Lingard. Money can't buy you friendships during your teen years, especially at a football club like United. Pogba remembers..he knows what he wants and why.

Maybe he feels part of a family hear and absolutely wanted and an integral part of our team and maybe our history, where as he maybe wont get that at madrid. Its plausible
By that then don't all the Spurs players currently have miles to go as well? Shaw/Smalling are as much starters for England as any current Spurs player, probably more so in their position. Dele Ali and Kane are not guaranteed starters and Dier has had 1 great season and is probably about the only sure starter they have.
Anyway - yes, it would be nice to have home grown talent in the team and United seem to be keeping up with that both with British and other academy graduates.

This has been(is still?) some rollercoaster tour. And depending on the news at the time my feelings about this transfer really changes. When it seems as if we're 100 % certain to get him, I'm thinking "meh, he's probably a little bit overrated and overpriced", but as soon as it seems like there is any doubt, e.g. the apparent Real Madrid contact I suddenly want him so badly! But I'm probably not the only one feeling that way. Damn muppetry...
