Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

The thing is with Vidal we were close but Bayern swooped him away for under noses. The transfer fee was around 40m however and not 120m+ so I think it is highly unlikley some team will sweep Pogba away from under noses. I really think United is the only team that want and can pay so much money for him this season.
No, the Vidal saga was 2014. Bayern signed him in 2015. That would be one very slow swoop.

Also, we never bid for Vidal. Every Vidal story came from Italy and Chile, but English journos were briefed on a couple occasions that we were not bidding. Vidal and/or his agent wanted us to bid. We had legitimate concerns about his knee, as he had come back too soon from surgery you play in the World Cup, and was never 100% during the tournament (even came off in Extra time against Brazil, despite being Chile's best penalty taker).

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but where did it say in his article that we've had a bid rejected? It says Juventus want more, but it doesn't say anywhere that a bid has been rejected?
Really? Saying they want more is saying they are rejecting the current offer.. They might accept the same offer later, but if we made a proposal and they said they want more, it means they reject our bid.

Well one thing is for sure. If we don't end up with him, I'm never ever going to be pulled into another transfer thread until I see 'XXXX: signed, sealed and delivered'...
Yeah I am the same mate. There is too much rubbish flying around, I don't even think Di Marzio knows what's going on let alone the other awful journos like Kevin Palmer.

Whatever that was it's been deleted

I mean in Di Marzio's artcle, it says Juve want more money, but it doesn't say we've had a bid rejected. People are adding 1+1 and getting 3
": at the moment the 110 million euros plus 10 in bonuses offered by the red devils are not enough." What does that mean for you? It means rejected for me.

It says they are still negotiating.

I don't even believe a word he says at the minute, but nothing in that article suggests the deal is off, like some are trying to spin.

WhatchutalkinboutWillis:confused: If we offered 120m and they asked for more money, that does mean that they have rejected our 120m offer. You are adding 1+1 and getting 1.5. I don't know how but I am impressed.

I would agree that article indicates 'a' bid has been rejected. Whether it's the first one or the second one (if there has even been a second one) is unclear.

What it does not say, or even suggest, is that we have pulled out.

Fair enough. I'd have said it means the deal is on the table, but they're trying to get a bit more, which we know about due to the fact they want us to pay Raiolas fee too.

So the offer hasn't been accepted or rejected if you look at it like that

Juve remind me of the Canadians in that South Park episode.

He seems to have built himself quite a reputation somehow but he doesn't half contradict himself. Gives little twists to the same nonsense everyday.
Yep. He doesn't know even half of what he pretends to know.

All journos are bullsh*tters 99% of the time.

Hasn't it always been said that Juventus want €120m? So it makes sense that Juventus want more if we've offered €110m + €10m add ons. Nothing to worry about tbh.
Exactly, all summer the €120m was being thrown around, so Woody had to be prepared to pay that if push came to shove. The 110m + bonuses is just hagling.

The key here is Pogba and just how badly he wants to leave. If he really wants to leave, they aren't going to miss out in 110m+ in order to have an unhappy player earning a fraction of what he could be earning. But just telling Juve that he wants to leave is different than being desperate to leave.

The 20% Raiola cut was supposed to be from the transfer fee.. out of the 120m. Recent reports are suggesting that has changed.. So it isnt the same 120m that has been reported all summer.

Has there been any indication of him wanting to leave? Perhaps there is a difference in intensity to wanting to leave for United...and wanting to leave for Madrid.....not sure

Prediction: This will go quiet and then Pogba will come back, be interviewed and say he's got no plans to leave.

When you are reminded of the falling out with SAF, would seem odd for him to want to come back but the financial aspect might be something he values more

Oh man you are right, my memory abdonned me there I'am afraid.

Still the Pogba things was reported by Di Marzio, Sky, BBC, L'equippe, not that it was done but it sure does signal we are trying to sign him. That is pretty clear.

This is getting a familiar vibe alright.

Of mourinho thread (before he became manager), zlatan thread, Schneiderlin thread (last year, especially after news came out we were targetting schweinsteiger). Where fans were paranoid we were losing out to PSG/Madrid, Bayern and Arsenal respectively.

Not really, wanting more money does actually mean the seem as having a bid rejected.

If we offer €120m for Pogba and Juve says no we want more money than that, then it is the same as rejected.

Wrong. Fergie isn't the manager anymore and if he was as influential now, we would have retained guys like Fletcher of even Giggs.

Pogba himself told in an interview he wants to come back to united in his career.
