West Ham at the London Stadium | Nearly £450k of taxpayers money used to try and find a sponsor

What exactly did the 280m conversion cost the tax payer paid go to?

I thought there was going to be a retractable athletics track, but by the looks of it they have not bothered, and the fans look really far from the pitch...

Every ounce of my being despises West Ham.

They could have torn it down and sold the land for housing development, much better return for the taxpayer and much needed affordable housing for Londoners. They will probably end up selling it to them for tuppence in 10 years time, like they did with the Emptyhad.

the etihad is still owned by manchester city council and city pay 5 million a year.

A magnifying glass for each season ticket sold!

There's no way they're charging people of these seats.

No seats? Lovely if that was in the guest stands or where the hardcore WH fans are, but not for the people in these photos.

What a shambles, temporary stands built on scaffolding and wooden planks and no seats in other parts. Was there any thought put into future use after the Olympics when it was initially being designed.

Surely retractable seating at the front would have cost less then when it was being built compared to the money that has been poured in since to ''convert'' it?

Only just seen those seatless areas, did WHU receive a fine for this? Isn't an allseater stadium mandatory in the PL?

I live in Leyton about a mile and a half away from this place. Run past it almost every day and it still looks to be about 50% done. The surrounding area (Stratford Olympic Park) is pretty soulless. It's going to take years and years for this place to build up any kind of atmosphere and aura.

Nice, ripping up their own seats.

I saw a video of the brawl, looked a lot worse than what you can see in this photo. Poor stewards, there were Chelski and Hammers fans spitting and pushing 'em. Horrible logistics for a stadium.

Chelsea fans looked more aggressive than the Hammers fans. Both fans were throwing things at each other over that curtain you can see in the picture.

In fairness, both Chelsea and West Ham firms agreed to a good old fashioned get together a few miles from the match, however nobody realised that it was still inside the stadium.

Went to the game, was not a nice atmosphere inside and outside the ground.

There have been fans from both sides ringing Talksport and they said the organisation was atrocious. Even after the game with fans leaving the police had absolutely no idea which direction to send fans to prevent trouble. Also one West Ham fan said the myth that season tickets are cheap is rubbish. He has to pay over £9,000 for him and his 13 year old son and if they cannot sort the thugs out there was no way he would be going to anymore games. One West Ham fan wanted to go his usual way home and the police stopped him and he actually got lost. They are saying that West Ham got the stadium on the cheap and do not want to stump up for the extra policing needed for this stadium.

Not entirely sure but I believe West Ham asked for extra police inside the ground but were turned down because of an unsatisfactory radio system within the area.
Something to do with emergency services not being able to communicate properly with each other.

Airwave radio I believe it is called, might not be installed until December.

Eh?

All under 16 season tickets are just £99 and the most expensive adult ST is £899. (cheapest is £289). Where the hell has the bloke managed to find the extra £8000 in his "myth"

It's never a "myth" if you can just check the pricing online @DomesticTadpole

I heard that the radios don't work, fans also said there was sod all segregation under the stands. It just isn't a football stadium. West Ham have just thought if we stick a football pitch in the middle it will make it one.

I agree it's not a football stadium at all. It's a business for the owners, I would imagine the fans don't like it there either.
