This is absolute nonsense.
Thatcher's deliberate social engineering experiment involved controlling and altering the working man to break the strength of Unions, social cohesion and, inevitably, the Labour Party (which, frankly, worked brilliantly) impacted on football fans who were seen as utter scum by the Thatcher Govt. Thatcher's government were, in fact, complicit in the events that lead to Hillsborough (fencing, aggressive and callous policing) and the subsequent cover up.
There is also absolutely no reason why standing sections can't exist and work. They do in many countries.
People wanting to stand at football is also not synonymous with violence.
Not charging a bloody fortune might bring families back so it's not 200 quid a game in total expenditure.
