David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

Jesus fecking Christ Moyes  Why would anyone sign for Sunderland when you're calling all your targets shit?

Why would you say that in public?

Jesus, those quotes. Who would want to cone there now.

Him to Mrs Moyes: "Your lover comes here as a favourite."

I'll get my coat.

To Mrs Moyes:

"We're gonnae have sex, it's probably not gonnae be very good, but I don't have the kinda wife I'd ideally like, so we'll make the best of a bad situation. Nae tek yer knickers off."

"feckin hell lass why can't you act like jagielka?"

It seems that Lescott was training with Sunderland this morning. :wenger:

yepp, jean luc pickard had just confirmed it. Data will cover for the chief security officer role until Rooney retires.

moyes really doing his part to excite the sunderland fanbase.

haawwwaaaay the lads! ... no i mean, "i'd be lying to you if i said we'd be bring in anyone who'll make a difference". haha

If i were Sunderland, I'd be looking into whether it's possible to avoid giving him a severance package by arguing that he's angling for a sack, because that's what he looks like doing now with what he saying to the press.

If anyone else was so inept at their jobs as Moyes is at his latest one, they'd be lucky to still be in it a few months later, let alone be faced with the prospect of getting paid millions when they inevitably get sacked.

This has got to be the end of his PL career.
I'm honestly not sure why any team (in any league) would hire him, given his shitty mentality and defeatist attitude.
Everton was somehow the perfect storm for him. I doubt he will find success anywhere he goes now.

The new article makes him look like he's on his way out, jesus has he given up hope or what, if the players aren't the issue must be the strategy right? Terrible manager, when you think about what has happened since his Everton days, finishing as high as he did looks even more amazing now.

It's amazing that in Moyes last two premier league jobs he came in and spent more than his predecessor but immediately expectations plummet and the jobs are made out to be mission impossible scenario's where he has no chance to succeed.

I agree - it sounds like an unsubtle attempt to get sacked. He'll no doubt have the press onside if and when it does happen - impossible job, broken promises etc.

The last 6 months have also confirmed what I had long thought going back to their days in the North West - Big Sam is a much better manager than Moyes. As I wouldn't want Sam anywhere near the United job, Moyes succeeding Fergie reads like the plotline of some implausible comedic farce.

The only possible explanation is he wants the sack. Why else would he come out with such obvious toss?!

Literally everything he's said since joining Sunderland has been designed to reflect blame away from himself. It takes a special kind of loser to start making excuses from day one to ensure the narrative is firmly set should you eventually get sacked.

Imagine the utter shite he would have signed for us had he been given another summer transfer window. Cretin of the heighest order.

wtf is wrong with this guy? Everything he does comes across as an attempt to make expectations so low that even a point at home to Swansea seems like a managerial triumph. It's like he doesn't care how badly it goes so long as he doesn't get the blame.

JUST

Mata Herrera and Shaw?

Scouted by Ferguson signed under Van Gaal.

It was Woodward who wanted to sign Herrera in 2013 Moyes didn't, obviously he hadn't scouted him enough to make a decision.

Some musings from his press conference:

'I think I'd be kidding you on if I told you that the players we're going to bring in in January will make a big difference,' said the Scot, whose side are joint bottom ahead of Saturday's trip to West Brom.

'First of all, we probably couldn't get that level of player. Secondly, we probably wouldn't have the finances to do that.

'I think to suggest that the players we'll be bringing in will make a big difference wouldn't be correct.

'I think the players that did come in at the same time for Sunderland last year (Wahbi Khazri, Lamine Kone and Jan Kirchhoff at a cost of £15m) did make a big difference and did a good job.

'I'm not saying we won't get players who can go straight into the team. I think it just depends a bit on the quality and what's available. I'd say we'll probably be looking at loans and free agents as well.'

Some people are just so positive it's infectious and they light up a room. Moyes is the opposite, must suck all the energy out of a room as soon as he enters.

All this nonsense is of course Moyes protecting himself again. He's been moaning about his current players not being good enough and having no money.

But just on the off chance they do sign a few decent players he is already adding any potential signings to the current ''these players aren't good enough'' narrative. Just in case they still get relegated, which they likely will.

Players must be lining up to play under dreary bollocks at Sunderland

If Sir Alex was with Mrs Moyes, it would be difficult for him as well

Moyes on Pulis: “Tony has done a good job wherever he has gone. Given time, he always puts together a good team, and he has done. You can see them beginning to build on what they have done and sometimes it takes a little bit of a while to appreciate how good a job he has done.”

Appreciate me. If I had more time. Takes a while. Build on it. Takes a while. Appreciate me.

   Laughed so loud I woke my missus up!

Woodward wanted him and not Moyes?

Yeah hilarious mate.

It was clear that Moyes liked Herrera but very specifically said that to make such a huge financial outlay -- his first stellar signing as United manager -- he'd wanted to have much more personal time invested in assessing the player.

He liked him and a year and a half earlier wouldn't have hesitated to sign him, because his scouting of the young Basque midfielder was extremely detailed, but his "eyes-on" work on Herrera had diminished since.

A couple of days later I got a text from Moyes to the effect that "the club," i.e. executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, had decided to go "all in" on the last day of the transfer window and to try to pull the deal off.

Moyes hasn't denied this account of events. With his bum chums in the press he could have done it easily, yet not a peep.
