Scouted by Ferguson signed under Van Gaal.
It was Woodward who wanted to sign Herrera in 2013 Moyes didn't, obviously he hadn't scouted him enough to make a decision.
Yup.

Some musings from his press conference:
'I think I'd be kidding you on if I told you that the players we're going to bring in in January will make a big difference,' said the Scot, whose side are joint bottom ahead of Saturday's trip to West Brom.
'First of all, we probably couldn't get that level of player. Secondly, we probably wouldn't have the finances to do that.
'I think to suggest that the players we'll be bringing in will make a big difference wouldn't be correct.
'I think the players that did come in at the same time for Sunderland last year (Wahbi Khazri, Lamine Kone and Jan Kirchhoff at a cost of £15m) did make a big difference and did a good job.
'I'm not saying we won't get players who can go straight into the team. I think it just depends a bit on the quality and what's available. I'd say we'll probably be looking at loans and free agents as well.'

I can't believe some think Van Gaal was worse than him. The mans a fecking disease, rots the confidence in everything around him like a dementor.
Amazing![]()
The owner wants out and won't spend any more money . Not that he should trust Moyes with the pursestrings again anyway.Sunderland are a mess. They have been dodging relegation for several years now. Shit squad. No decent transfers.
Do they have huge debts? They seem to be the poorest side in the league despite having a pretty decent stadium and support.
Don't really have much sympathy for Moyes, but its not like he is messing up a well run club. Any manager in his position would complain and be totally justified in doing so.
Moyes all but confirming Sunderland are going down and there's nothing he can do about it because of limitations placed on him. Damage limitation again from Moyes, getting excuses in early and lowering expectations despite knowing exactly what he was getting himself into before taking the job.
I wouldn't put it past them.I think they should sell Defoe in exchange for some magic beans.
He said: “They are good players. I have respect for the guys, so why would I say the guys are not good?
“So I don’t understand the lack of respect for the professionals when they have been amazing players, and (people saying) they are not good enough for me. Maybe I am not good enough for them.”
Best description of him. Sucks the life out of everything.I can't believe some think Van Gaal was worse than him. The mans a fecking disease, rots the confidence in everything around him like a dementor.
Good one!.......Him to Mrs Moyes "Your lover is the level I aspire to be"
its actually an incredible achievementJust completely annihilating any confidence of current players and also that of players that he hasn't even signed yet.
My thoughts exactly. If he gets sacked he wins, he doesn't want a relegation on his CV.Angling for the sack. If they stay up then it's his players and they didn't give him a chance, down then 'there was nothing he could do with that squad', nevermind the £40m spent.
Thanks Moyesy for some much needed comic relief to make a bad day slightly better. 4 defeats in 5 and look to be playing horrendous football to boot as well. I almost feel sorry for Sunderland fans having to sit through a season with this man in charge.

Almost but not really. Thanks Moyesy for some much needed comic relief to make a bad day slightly better. 4 defeats in 5 and look to be playing horrendous football to boot as well. I almost feel sorry for Sunderland fans having to sit through a season with this man in charge.
Any golden nuggets of wisdom from Moyes post-match?
He didn't let the two goals in, it's hardly his fault. He specifically told the keeper to not let any goals in
He needs more time. Give him another 2 years. He will get Sunderland back to the Championship after that.
Complain perhaps, but i doubt every manager would constantly bitch about their own players not being good enough.
Complaining about a lack of funds is fair enough i suppose. Though he did break their transfer record and spent more than any Sunderland manager in history over the summer.
I don't think he wants to be managing them in the Championship..... seems like he's in a tight spot because he doesn't want to lose the money he'd get if he resigns, yet he doesn't seem like he wants to be there either..Too much self preservation, he probably has been let down by the club but all his complaining in public isn't helping the team or the club.
If he feels he can't do anymore he should walk away, if he thinks things are bad now wait until they are in the championship with no money and their best players have been sold.
Even Chinese clubs won't want him.
I'll never feel sorry for those wankers after the game when we lost the title up there and they were doing the Poznan, shit club, shit fans, hope they go down and never come back.
