Fabinho

Perfect right back for Pep.

Agreed. Incredible not a single one of the portuguese big three gave it a go with Fabinho. Sporting hasn't had a decent full back in ages. Crap scouting by us.

We had the chance to get him last summer and should have taken it.

Our scouting is a joke, Jesus or Bruno who is the worst.

Regarding Fabinho with City, I think he will play in midfield.

Yep. Only decent scouting gem was Slimani. We are incapable of "producing" full backs in the academy as well. Frustrating. Anyways, whoever gets Fabinho will get a very good player. I´m a fan. Good technically, can do various positions, not injury prone and with a good shot.

Dear united, please sign me as your scout as clearly your current available selection don't have a feckin clue. On a serious note, if we aren't in for Fabinho I am truly lost.

Out of topic here but I would give a chance to Empis next season over Jefferson, Fabinho was the kind of player Mendes brought to Europe I don't remember if he played for Rio Ave or no, other player we didn't payed attention in Portugal was Seri who is at Nice, sometimes our scouting is very bad tbh.

We may be in for him, doesn't mean we will get him.

Yeah he played. I haven't seen enough of Empis but i have Sportinguistas friends who rate him as well. I remember Seri but i wasn't impressed when i saw him play. I was surprised when i saw him play at Nice.

Yeah, Fabinho will be used in the midfield by Pep. For the right back prime target for City is Kyle Walker.

I think you guys just signed Bebeto son. Questionable scouting indeed.

Clever signing if it happens, allows Silva and De Bruyne to play in a three man midfield with a lot more confidence than with Yaya covering them.

Get a grip you massive baby
This.

People throwing their toys out of the pram over what might be a nothing story

Even if it is true and he goes to City, so what? Blaming the scouting etc, has it occured to people that it might be Mourinho himself that doesn't fancy it?

He's not perfect, but I'd rather trust in the opinion of a manager who has won league titles at every club he has been at, and won numerous European trophies over some spoilt children that appears to be the case on here.

People need to get a grip.

I'll be heavily disappointed if he goes to City. Will be a great addition to Pep's style of play.

Just hope not.

Any reliability in this? I mean if this is genuinely true, I'd be seriously gutted especially more-so if we were never in for him. He's literally a perfect full-back and exactly what we need. Would improve City massively and he's only 23, that's their right-back and defensive midfield sorted for the next 8 to 10 years.

I couldn't have seen Fabinho coming here anyway, he fits the City profile.

Fabinho is not all that. If Jose prefers Dier, i'm all for it. Any player who's name ends with 'inho' is automatically better than any other player. Plenty of FM posters in here. You can tell a mile away who they are.

Not bothered tbh. One thing I trust Jose to get right is transfers, especially defensive ones.

If he does go to City then I don't think he's any good and we dodged a bullet there.

He can't fix both in one go! Personally if he signed I see him as a DM to replace Fernandinho/Yaya who are both in their 30s, it's also where he's excelled for Monaco this season (he can provide RB cover when needed though). For RB I can't look past Walker, I think he's leaving Spurs and I think he would be a great fit.

Ed woodward should start punching in proportion to our weight in transfer market, Pep was brought in to challenge the united dominance and we must make sure he feels who is he trying to mess with as a club.

No nonsense in this transfer season.

Really wanted Fabinho but I'd take Dier as a second option

Spanish journalist reports on a possible transfer of a Brazilian player from a French club to an English one.

Seen him play like twice, what puzzles me though is that he is sometimes left out of the Monaco squad for big matches, like the second leg against Juventus. Perhaps the French posters can elaborate on that specific selection.

Might be very good, but as usual we'll elevate him to prime Redondo levels and panic now that it seems possible that he is going to City.

Tbf if anything City have been linked with Fabinho more than we have by pretty decent sources.

Why is everyone panicking over City possibly signing this player like he is Messi or something? Next i will see the same kind of reactions when Mbappe moves to Madrid

Except the two times you played City; 40% and 31% according to the BBC! :)

What about when we had perfect balance in the league cup? We also pretty much dominated the second half at oldtraford in the first game. This will not be the case next season with pogba and no fellani.

And besides he will be bounded and forced to pass sideways and backwards just like we did in lvg era. he is a direct vertical passer with good passing range which we give freedom to midfeilders to pass accordingly.

An English club with Spanish executives and coaching staff, both of whom would be heavily involved in and, possibly, directly responsible for recruitment. It's not hard to see where the link might come from.

It has been reported in french media, it's not a spanish scoop.

I'm surprised people are losing their heads over this. We are not the only club with a statement to prove, and seemingly unlimited money to throw around. City are in the exact same boat as us, needing top quality additions to their squad to enhance and also replace their key players. I wouldn't expect Chelsea to resting on their laurels either. I'd expect both City and Chelsea to be shopping from the same aisle as us. Don't be surprised to see some big names linked with them, that's how it is. It isn't Pokemon and we can't sign them all. There's a good chance a big name'll be heading to our rivals this season.

Our job is just to make sure we secure the players that we want to make sure we'll be ready for next season.

Whut? Firstly we broke the world transfer record last summer.

Secondly, we're not dominating anything.

That must have been a long sleep you just woke up from.

But we want him, city will exactly try to sabotage our window, and we should not let them, they already have gundogan who'' be fit next season along with fernando and fernandinho.

Fabinho is a Monaco player am I correct? They're not going to sell lots of players to us. I'd rather we were in for Silva.
