But forgetting United's injuries he was always going to still get played much more at Valencia than here. In his eyes anyway. Next season with Carrick gone it makes him go up in the pecking order. To be fair though, we could have done with him to play on the right instead.
Needed?! Hardly. Doubt he'd have started a single league game for United this season. And that's with long term injuries to Pog and Fellaini. Who would Mourinho have dropped to give Pereira games?
United's not a charity for young players, he should have stayed and played his part, fighting for his minutes like everyone else. He could have had a chance to overcome Herrera in the pecking order, when the Spanish was out of form and having trouble in a midfield two with Matić. Even today, Mourinho will probably have to start both Matić and Herrera, overplaying them before a Chelsea away game, as he can't probably offer McTominay a Champions League start, but by now A.Pereira would have gain his trust to start this game.

How good dose our performance look now seeing what they could actually do when let.

I know its not like for like, but it does add a little perspective!

Because we are not playing with the flair of City we are never going to get the credit. Spurs result was brilliant, performance was a typical cagey Jose after seeing him at Chelsea 2x I’m not sure what anyone is expecting and on top of this he’s been giving our youth a chance. Unlike Pep who’s bench was worth a squilion pounds last night.

Heh.

He’d have got games McTominay is getting but I don’t think we’ve lost a single game McTominay started so we clearly didn’t “need” him and that need willl get even less after the next international break.

Back on topic, Spurs beating Madrid does make our result look better. It also makes our approach look less defensive. Harry Kane doesn’t improve Spurs defence and we caused them more problems over 90 minutes than Ronaldo et al (and that’s without an Alderweireld injury)

Did Sanchez make a difference to the Spurs defence formation? Did that effect the way Dier was utilized?
There's no doubt Kane made a difference big time.

No and no.

The only significant change, defensively, was the Alderweireld injury. Their formation was identical.

That's good to know. Our attack is a bit underrated, probably because we can still be disjoint for a large part of a game. But this season, we have learnt to suddenly put pressure on opposition out of nowhere and have been able to score a few as a result.

Also, I bet Mourinho will mention the Madrid-Tottenham result next time to justify his approach. He seems so wounded these days by the general talk in media and fans about him.

Yup. I agree with Roy Keane on this.

"My only concern about Mourinho is that he seems to be distracted by the so-called critics out there," stated Keane, in his role as an ITV pundit. "He is probably paid eight, nine or ten million pounds a year so focus on your own job. Rise above that. He should be better than that, but he seems to be easily upset.
"Shut up and get on with your job. You are getting very well paid for it."

Harsh but fair.

I don't agree, although it doesn't matter now, cause he lost his chance here. A.Pereira could have started Burton instead of Carrick, even perhaps Liverpool away instead of Young in midfield, and specially in a 4-3-3 away at Huddersfield, in which we went forced to play a disastrous 4-2-3-1 with Mata.

Yes , He needs to come back, We surely could have done with a 433 against liverpool and huddersfeild , Would have played cup games and champions league as well. Trained with the likes of pogba ibrahimovic matic carrick day in day out.

And its not the case that he's playing week in week out at valencia as well.

Not sure Mourinho will want him to return in the winter market, nor does the player. Besides, having lost his spot at Valencia, he's still contributing to their fantastic campaign. We should start considering offers on him next summer.

Holy shit. It's astonishing when you hear these so called "pundits" express their opinion. They're full of such bullshit, it's unbelievable. Redknapp with his "that United defence is nowhere near Vidic and Ferdinand etc." - 4 goals conceded this season, no goals scored at OT from open play in 2017. Our defence is as good as its ever been since 08/09 and it CAN reach that level. I hate hearing stupid people talk and Redknapp is beyond thick.

As for the stupid scouser, LOL. Bar this period of 2-3 weeks, we've been thoroughly entertained by our team. Heck, I was more than entertained on Saturday - off my seat screaming when we scored. These guys want us to lose so that they can say "we told you so". They may as well come out and say we hate Mourinho and we hate United. Lampard was the only one who didn't spout crap and that's because he obviously loves Mourinho (plus he isn't a dipshit).
Agreed, Redknapp the man who once claimed he didn't know how to operate a computer, had difficulty writing and more tellingly has a 100% loss record against Mourinho .....I'm surprised he even managed to find his way to the match.
