Chelsea 2017/18 thread - FA Cup Champs, League chumps

He did underperform for them for a season maybe but for the most part they always regarded him as one of their best players. Weird that suddenly he's only ever been a decent player and nothing else.

I wasn't a fan of signing him when I first heard about it but I'm more then pleasantly surprised by how good he is. Very classy player.
I also find it weird that his last season for them is seen as average, talking about rewriting history

How many excuses is this cnut going to get? Firstly we've got people claiming he meant amnesia, despite saying the Italian for senile dementia, now senile dementia is just a synonym for forgetfulness. Give me a break, he triple jumped over the mark and he should apologise at the extreme least, the next time someone with a recording device is near him.

I've been jokingly calling people senile or demented forever. Guess my cuntishness means i don't thinks it's that bad.

You have a point, when Conte was lifting the title last season i was gutted we didn't we didn't actually finish 6th.
We did finish 6th but we also won two trophies and didn't lose a cup final to our local rivals. ;)

Sure, everyone knows it's much better to win the carabao cup and europa league than dominate the premier league and lose the FA cup final :lol::lol:

Where did I say it was better? He mocked us for finishing 6th so I just pointed out that we did win two trophies to go with that and I stated a fact that they lost a cup final to their rivals. Not sure whats controversial about this?

Matic does exactly what United wanted, sit infront of the back 4. You guys wanted more of a b2b midfielder, when Matic was being asked to do that his performances dropped.

I don't see the point of Bakayoko though. Non entity in attack, and somehow manages to look suspect defensively and positionally even with the energizer bunny Kante covering every blade of grass twice at the same time.

Matic was sitting in front of the defense last season especially towards the end and looked shite while doing it. Bakayoko does look like a nothing player right now and Conte either gets him to turn the corner or starts playing Drinkwater who’s hasn’t put a foot wrong in his limited playing time so far.

Also see them trying to make it sound like Matic was poor last season which is far from the truth really.

This myth needs to end. He was bad for almost 2 years.

http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/17403-nemanja-matic/?page=171

My first posts on this forum were we’d be lucky to get 15m for him with the form he’s displayed (or something like that). The fans had no idea he just wanted out that badly.

I simply don't get the lack of playing time (or should I say preference for Bakayoko) for Drinkwater. On this season's evidence he is miles ahead of Bakayoko (though the later is a more attacking player).

Drinkwater was injured for the start of the season and has only recently (some time in November, if I remember correctly) become match fit. Should continue to see a decent amount of minutes from this point on if he can stay injury free.

Bakayoko is absolute dogshit. Drinkwater and Barkley are average and there for the English quota. Looks like a managed decline to me.

This.

Imagine us United fans despising Fergie, complaining about him having a grip on the FA and all other sorts of things people used to moan about him.

And now imagine if he'd moved to City, or Arsenal or Liverpool and started slagging off United any chance he got. I'll always be grateful for what Jose did for us, but he has absolutely zero loyalty for his old clubs, and the pointlessness of it drives me crazy sometimes. He was absolutely worshipped at the Bridge even after that terrible season, yet he can't resist taking pops at us despite us not being title rivals last year, and this year neither of us seriously competing for the title. I have no idea what he thinks he gains by doing it, but what he loses is a massive amount of respect and love from the fans.

I would like to hear what Treble Winning has to say on these matters :)

How has Danny Drinkwater been fantastic when he's barely played? Came on against Arsenal and barely made a forward pass? Not saying he's a poor player by any means as we've seen what he can do due to his Leciester days but he's far from that level at this present time, couldn't even start the derby ahead of Bakayoko who's a terrible footballer.
Considering Matic was declared the second coming of christ after a debut at home to West Ham, i don't think it's atall unreasonable to make an assessment on Danny after 14 appearances.

Chelsea fans have an habit of overrating their midfield players as it makes them feel good about selling Matic. First it was Bakayoko and now Drinkwater.

They're usually critical about their team but one post about Matic and they start overrating Bakayoko and Drinkwater.
It's United fans and the media that can't seem to shut up about Matic and bring him up everytime we drop points making out he was incredible for us (last season), stop doing that and we will stop reminding you how average he was for two season's.

Also see them trying to make it sound like Matic was poor last season which is far from the truth really.
No, it wasn't. He was allright during the 13 game winning run but other than that was average and when the discussion turned to areas we needed to upgrade over the summer, Matic's position was universally agreed as the first port off call.

This.

Imagine us United fans despising Fergie, .
We don't despise him we pity him, he was considered as big a legend as Zola, Drogba, Osgood, Lamps, JT, Cech at the club, possibly bigger, he still had that status after his initial appointment at United (just like Cech still has it despite playing for Arsenal) he, and only he, ruined it by his disrespectful actions towards the club. Conte has outclassed him and done better with not only the base of the same Chelsea squad but better than what he's doing at United, Pep and Klopp are tactically leaving him behind at his teams two biggest rivals and to add even further insult, Wenger's started working him out. Basically all his worst nightmares are playing out, being tactically outclassed by Pep (again), a Chelsea manager and losing his hold over Wenger, all at the same time AND while he was suppose to be naturally following in the footsteps of the greatest manager ever at what is apparently his dream job, ouch!!!!!

Jose (and the media) thought he was going to dominate, have Pep at arms length with Conte, Wenger and Klopp well out of his way quietly battling for top 4 and the ironic thing is, he'd probably still be loved down at SW6 if that's actually how it panned out.

Oh my some of our renties are having mini meltdowns. Very amusing!
So after all your outrage about Conte's dementia comments, you are now using the term 'rentie' to have a pop? Interesting. Seems the only person having 'mini meltdowns' is you.

The hatred you have for Conte is hilarious. Embarrassment? Stop it. Mourinho started criticizing Conte’s “antics” maybe a year ago, maybe more. He’s embarrassed and jealous, as he should be.
All other fans, even Spurs supporters, seem to be happy to accept Conte's come in and done and a fantastic job, but United fans just seem to want to play him down at any opportunity.

They are all based on Hazard, without him, who won’t extend his contract, I wanna see...

This is weird because Chelsea fans on here are usually critical about their team more than opposition fans on here but when the conversation shifts to Matic, they go weirdly deluded.
I am not. Conte did want Matic to stay and help ease Bakayoko into the team but in typical chelsea board fashion, Matic was sold to Man Utd.

Conte will be proud of such a rant.

I'd say he'd be more proud of this one.

Mourinho has nothing to be blamed of. Better blame the clown who took a quote on himself even though the quote didn't even mention his name.

All Mourinho comments have been cleverly constructed. The Italian clown is the one who keeps going on a rant every single time and it's actually funny to watch.

And if we're in danger of missing top 4 so Jose should keep calm, then surely, surely the team behind us should be worry of that as well and their manager should stop going on a rant ?

Conte is the conspiracy theory personified. He believes everything is aimed at him it's quite funny.

I can almost see those salty tears through the screen.

I still years to train and learn before being able to reach your ability of going on a rant though.

Do you even realize how illogical.your statements are. How is wenger and klopp well out of his way? Did you forget him beating Wenger at their own stadium which funnily your manager never does. Or do you realize we are sitting 2nd and others you mentioned are behind his team. You act as if he is a finished manager , just like how matic is a finished player when both are not true. Yes Pep is doing well but he is ahead of everyone and not just Jose.

And funny you say we are obsessed by your manager when in truth its your manager who got played by media and he started mentioning Jose when Jose never talked about Conte.

The Wenger comment makes no sense (among many other things); because Conte has no idea how to play against him. Pretty much every top manager has found Wenger out, except Conte who has been poor against him. 99% of United fans say that Conte is a top manager and deserves credit for winning the league on the first go; most united fans will also sympathize with Conte because he has been fighting with the board (they basically overrule him when they want to) just like every manager at Chelsea.

Yes, but Conte hasn't lorded a raging superiorty complex over Arsene for over a decade.

He's still a great manager, just not what he use to be. And Matic seems to be rejuvenated at United, that's fair enough and im not disputing that, im just not having the rewrite of history of his last two season's here everytime we drop points.

Genuinely I don't understand this mindset. Why are you even on a rival forum when you get so wound up?

Hes been in meltdown mode this past week. Not sure why. Think JM making a mug of Conte, then Conte subsequently embarrassing his club, has really hit him hard.

There's nothing more bitter than joining a rival club forum to have a laugh at that club.

I thought United fans were some of the best to talk football with, by the looks of this thread i have got that spectacular wrong, well either that or Fergie leaving has turned you lot more bitter. Either way the way you lot and Jose have been lashing out at us lately suggest's that we have upset United somewhat, not sure what we have done wrong but hey ho.

Well what were you expecting ? Us to haul Chelsea and Conte here when it comes to something related to United itself or what ? If you're joining a rival club forum you have to pay for the consequences.

No, but it's quite bizarre that someone comes on here to rant about Conte while the United match is on, the only times i ever even make reference to United while Chelsea are playing is if we are facing eachother or you have some relevance to procedings (ala the 2008 and 2010 final matches). Im not expecting you to "hail us" but i also don't expect some of the childish putdowns because i have the audacity to counter a post.

What on earth are you on about? Cracking up like your gaffer?

Not that I need to explain to you, or anyone else, but it's quite possible to post when a game is on during a break in play. If I hadn't of been working late I'd of been at the match myself.

I think you need a time out from the Caf for your own sanity.

Try and calm down.

Do you think you're getting more wound up because of conflicting feelings towards Mourinho?

What I mean is that this is the guy who brought all the glory and honours to Chelsea and thus every Chelsea fan is obviously indebted to him, yet, he's kinda started to turn on the club and your current manager.

That's up to Hazard, whoever comes in for him will need to pay some, that's for sure.
I don’t think he will stay especially since the Chelsea board isn’t willing to invest in top quality players to be his team mates. No blame from me to Hazard when he leaves Stamford Bridge for good.

You might be correct especially with the looming question of a stadium rebuild, personally I'm hoping we get Alex Sandro in this window.

Sandro will not be sold by Juventus in January. Perhaps in the summer but I fully expect Man Utd to pay whatever Juventus demands and buy him. The Chelsea board never participates in bidding wars for players as they aren’t willing to stump up the cash. Wait for more zappacosta and barkley type of signings while Conte leaves to join PSG and Hazard and Courtois joins Real Madrid. Hello Ancelotti!
