Come out of the woodwork ? Do you see how many posts I have - if anything that may apply to you but I've never noticed you in the slightest before so can't say, but I never hide. As for conceding - well take a look at the table, there's 3 points and 2-3 goals in the GD column between us. And you're basing everything on that ? ROFL ! Personally I think I'll wait until the final table before I'd dare to sound as arrogant as some of the United posters in this thread. Far too many twists and turns to come and the CL, EL, FAC and LC are going to throw spanners in the works of all teams.
 calm down, calm down

I didn't really mind Spurs until our game. I hoped last year they would win the title and I have always liked them.
But seeing how they constantly fouled Sanchez really made me pissed off. Especially that little fecker Alli. Spurs can feck off now.

From the games I’ve watched spurs, it looks like they place emphasis on winning the battle in the centre of the park. I haven’t really seen you play with a someone you’d class as a right/left winger/midfielder. That second half today was probably one of the better turnarounds I’ve seen this season, there was some abject stuff in the first half and then after half time, you made Liverpool look completely and utterly clueless for 45 mins.

Where do you see Lucas fitting in? He’s an out and out right winger offering not a whole lot defensively. Surely he doesn’t get near the first 11 if it’s that effective playing more narrow?

I think it's for an option, the past few seasons porch has tried getting a rapid wide man N'Jie and Nkoudo, neither managed to do what was promised, Lucas is in the same mould bit a lot higher profile. It's for strength and depth. We only have Lamela and errrrrr Sissoko for the attacking flanks. And your right we try to win the ball high up, but sometimes we don't have the speed to utilise it.

Pochs comments about him winning his place are intresting also. But yeah our second half performance today was outstanding. Against Arsenal I want Dier either dropped to defence or to the bench, Wanyama should be out no 1 DM, and not just cause of his rocket today.

Looking at the top teams compared to Spurs they do have a very physical midfield, Dembele, Dier, Wanyama are all midfield destroyers. Very little passing/ball playing in there, lots of breaking up play and pressing, although Dembele is good with the ball at his feet. Winks is probably the only midfielder they have with any sort of good passing range/creativity in that area, whatever happened to him, injured? Probably an area they should look to focus on, bringing in a really good ball playing midfielder, they havnt really had one since Modric.

Sanchez is terrible, always looks like he's going to make a mistake. Everyone has been commenting on how bad Lindelof has been and this guy has got off lightly.

Sanchez had a bad game last night against Liverpool, but in general he's been magnificent for Spurs (especially in the Champions League, where he was absolutely dominant). Given that he just turned 21 right before the start of the season, he's an unbelievable talent.

As Alderweireld returns, it will be interesting to see if Pochettino also returns to 3 at the back with Sanchez in the center of the 3 like he was using to start the season.

He's 21 playing in the best league in the world for one of the top sides in the league. He's not terrible. He will go on to become a world class CB but he us still so young and learning. He does need a little break from the side. He's played more football than expected because of Alderweirelds injury.

Wow, "magnificent", "absolutely dominant" as well as "unbelievable talent" in one go. Perhaps tone it down a few notches? I have seen a lot of games and he is a good player, although not a very smart one. You can often tell early in ones career if the player is above everyone else in terms of decisions, rather than just physical attributes such as speed and tackling. Sanchez is a strong tackler and tough player, but not anywhere close to being the smartest with his decisions and passes. He's going to have a long and good career, but let's wait with the undeserved praise until he's actually developed further.

He is 21, of course that he isn't the smartest with his decisions. He has been very good this season though, and has all the tools for a CB, in addition to being able to comfortably play the ball.

I think that Spurs might just have the best set of CBs in the league.

I guess I've been impressed with his decision making quite a lot more than you - in general his composure on the ball has been phenomenal for a young defender. He doesn't have Vertonghen's range of passing, but he's very rarely showed any panic of any form and mostly has just plugged in for Alderweireld and kept going. The fact nobody has barely talked about him despite him playing nearly every match for Spurs this season says a lot - he's quietly been a rock back there.

For a 21 year old center half in the PL and CL, playing in a system that exposes it's CB's tremendously? What's he's doing is absurd. He's going to spend a decade at the very top of the game (and half of that will likely be at Barcelona). It'll be fun as a Spurs fan watching him continue to grow the next few years, but I harbor no illusions that he's going to see out his prime years in lilywhite.

Fantastic read from Kane.

Especially this bit, actually think I've got something in my eye.

And thank you, of course, to the Tottenham fans. I dreamed of playing for Spurs since I was a boy. For a long time my motivation was simply to close my eyes and picture myself scoring against Arsenal in the Premier League. Done that a few times now, and it never gets old. But now, my motivation is a bit different. Now, I close my eyes and I picture myself lifting the Premier League trophy at our new stadium with my mates. I’d trade the next 100 goals for that feeling.

We’ve been close the past few seasons, but there’s only one way to close the gap — and I’m afraid it’s quite a boring answer. As my dad would say, we’ve gotta keep working, keep doin’. Keep getting on with it.

COYS,

Harry

Be honest, Glaston wrote that didn't he?

Let not go down this route, Alli needs to cut it out but have no Arsenal players have a history of diving. Is Xhaka not a bit of a hatchet at times. It's funny how Dele is the second most fouled player in the league but that never gets mentioned? Let me guess he deserves it .
Surely, he is not helping himself with his behaviour. Maybe a tough lesson, a very nasty tackle (not that i wish him it) would be help him learning.

Not sure how that would help. But definitely banning players who have dived, not just 'conned the referee' would be a good start.

Tottenham would be fecked if the refs actually reffed them properly; but Tottenham are allowed to kick and scream teams off the park regularly.

Dembele would get a red card every other game if he was treated like other players. Alli would get a yellow every game if he was punished for his diving. The only one that seems to be decent is Harry Kane; who is often trying to calm people down when the opposing team loses their temper from being clattered several times.

Looking forward to this one tonight. I fancy Spurs to go through and I think it'll be a good game.

Pleased Son starts, he’s earnt it. 2-1 Come on You Spurs.

Hangover in the morning lads
Think it's going be a conservative approach from both sides at least in the first half, highly doubt Juve will go out all blazing from the start and Spurs may be less adventurous due to result in Turin.

I hope not, they only need one goal and then we're chasing the game. We must score first, we do that and they must come at us. The Spurnabeu will be rocking.

 Jesus

That minute's silence was lovely, made extra special by your opponents tonight.

I think Spurs will do it, 2-0 on the night.

Poch currently getting tactically outplayed again, for all the 'beautiful' football he sets his team to play he still really has nothing on Mourinho, he should never come here, boggles my mind how people even compare him to Jose, even if they qualify today it changes nothing, Juve are shit it was obvious from the groupstages , in a two legged tie any other team will eliminate Spurs.

Have to agree he got completely done on a tactical level tonight. Adjustments took way too long. Way, way too long.
