It’s a daft point. Even if ZZ inherited a great team he still had to make them play together and get the best out of them.

Three years into his career? Not at all. He’s got a decent claim to be the bestest managed in history ever ever.

It also helps that Pep and Zidane inherited an embarrassment of riches in terms of players and can pretty much sign any player they want.Zidane won't come here - he gives eff all about us. He is either going to stay at Madrid long term or if he is bored already go off to manage Juventus or France. Maybe the slightest possibility being PSG.
What Pep and Zidane has done for Barcelona & Madrid can be done if we hire one of our own. Just his substitute's alone i'm sure it's more than just being a tremendous manager; he is literally a 12th man on the pitch having felt playing for that team before.
How many more in a row will he have to win before people stop calling it luck?
I'd say that's entirely unrealistic. Florentino would loathe to let him go after making him the most ambitious signing of the Galácticos era and subsequently elevating him to the manager's position (which was a massive vote of confidence). If Zidane does leave Madrid in the future for some inexplicable reason, he'll probably manage the French national team — seems like a very organic and obvious course of action: they will likely start peaking by the 2022 World Cup based on the profile of the players, so he'll be ideally positioned to lead the charge. Winning the World Cup as a player and as a manager would be a veeeeery enticing proposition for him, especially considering only 2 humans ever (Zagallo and Beckenbauer) have managed to do that. That will definitely cement his name as one of the foremost figures in football history.
Only positive things I can say about Zizou's Real team is that they have tremendous individual quality and mental strength to succeed even when being outplayed. They have been consistently outplayed tactically by some of their equals (Bayern) but they managed to go through by their mentality and individual quality, don't think he'l succeed at other clubs like Pep has done.

I'd hesitate to put him in the same bracket, to be honest, a bit too early for him. Not only was Zidane not comparable to someone like Cruyff as a player, but rather a tier below — as a manager and mentor and thinker and founder of the Cruyffian Barçajax school of football, he hasn't created a lasting legacy in comparative terms considering the latter helped set into motion several series of events that culminated in some of the most iconic club and national teams of all time. And that's with all due respect to Zidane, mind - one of the 15-ish greatest footballers of all time, and an outstanding Champions League manager, thus far — it's just that the bar to Cruyff level in terms of far-reaching influence is astronomically high (extending from his playing days to the likes of Van Basten and Rijkaard and Bergkamp at Ajax — and Guardiola and Xavi and Messi at Barcelona), and cannot be compared with someone whose tenure as a first team manager spans across a minuscule 2½ seasons.I'd say last night has definitely put him alongside Cruyff, Beckenbaur.
As a player, he's amongst them, and as a manager. It's an unbelievable achievement. Three European Cups in a row... It's just crazy!
He was better than Cruyff as a player, dragged a team that was stuck in groupstage without him (WC 2002, Euro 2008) to both World Cup and Euro glory, scoring 3 goals in the WC finalNot only was Zidane not comparable to someone like Cruyff as a player, but rather a tier below
Changed my stance on Zidane. I want him in after Jose now. Would most likely get the best out of Pogba.
We vastly overstate the impact of managers on this forum. Especially in this era where the top sides have such absurd financial advantages.

Cruyff couldn't win a WC with a team that made the final without him in 1978.
Cruyff is all myth no substance, people overrate him for his name and the supposed impact his philosophy (it's not actually is) and blablabla.
Cruyff has nothing over Zidane, played in an easier era and has less decisive career moment.

Wow. You obviously never watched much of Cruyff because your post is beyond clueless. Zidane was an incredible player but Cruyff was insane. He has to be incredible, clearly. It is not possible to do what he has done if he isn't. How incredible, only time will tell but I'm certain now there is a manager in there. Would probably do well here
Best in the world. Didn't spend a cent on big names since he came in, promoted the kids, and has achieved the impossible in winning not 2 but 3, 3 CLs in a row.
Who cares about that tinpot league if you win the big one every year.
Incredible really. I was sooo skeptical when he was announced as their manager. He's been incredibleHe could retire this season, his name would still be a legend already. Fecking 3 times in a row, while modestly spent on players. No bullshiting about the need to build a team to his own image before playing good football and winning trophies.

He is someone big ego players listen to and he seem like a good man manager, his team is really fused. He has certain SAF qualities in that regard. Still can't see him coming to England, seem like a Spain Italy man thru and thru or maybe NTBest in the world. Bale was very disgruntled in post interview wanted to start was frustrated and vocalized his opinions on Zidane. Said he wants to start weekly and will sit down in summer and see where he is at in that regard. Ronaldo is Mr Madrid, probably wants a new bumper deal same story every year!Zidane has some incredibly hard decisions to make this summer. Both Bale and Ronaldo seem ready for a move. I'm sure Real can convince them to stay if they want. Really tricky decision and it will set the tone for the next few seasons to come.
Hypothetically speaking, if Madrid were offered the chance to swap Ronaldo and Bale with Neymar and Mbappe, they would take it imo. With PSG getting into trouble with FFP, I can see Madrid coming in with a huge bid for one of these players. Salah, Kane, Hazard, Lewandowski(unlikely) could also be targets. Will be interesting to see how things unfold. United should be ready to steal a deal if they get a chance.Bale was very disgruntled in post interview wanted to start and vocalized his opinions. Both those players are poster boys and will sell tickets and merchandise no matter what AND have a few years left. Bale is phenomenal and look fit (ATM). As for PSG I think in that scenario we should get Veratti if possible. This is exactly why Zidane the player is the most overrated of all time.
