Day 10: Belgium vs Tunisia, South Korea vs Mexico and Germany vs Sweden

Germany's lineup for today: 1 Neuer (C) 3 Hector 7 Draxler 8 Kroos 9 Werner 11 Reus 13 Müller 16 Rüdiger 17 Boateng 18 Kimmich 19 Rudy

Nope. Depends on Germany/Sweden result and possibly the third matchday results.

There ain't no way Germany doesn't get something off Sweden. They are desperate after the Mexico loss.

Which then sets up third matchday with the possibility of three sides on six points if Germany and Sweden win. I cannot imagine Mexico choking against Sweden but they sometimes play down to their opposition as much as they play up to others.

I say it was a joke. He scored 26 goals that first season after LVG sold him.
And here we are 4 years later , players like benteke being sold for £32million and arnautovic being quoted for £50m

Reportedly he is blacklisted by the US due to Cartel connections, so he probably got a bit of pick-me-up handy.
His lawyers are fighting the claim, but for the time being, he’s not being allowed to have any kind of sponsorship material on him to avoid companies being fined by US authorities.

I seriously, seriously doubt that a manager like Osorio substitutes a player in with that kind of rationale.

mexican players can be a bit emotional or lose focus at times. Marquez has a special standing in the team and brings leadership, that might prevent some players to do stupid stuff. Not that I fully agree with this line of reasoning, mind.

Rudy's playing for Germany.:lol::lol: Why not Gündogan?!

Maybe he trusts Rudy to be the most disciplined. I mean if we ignore individual quality and just look at player profiles, he's probably the best fit for Khedira's spot.

If we really have to resort to playing Rudy, then Löw, or whoever is coaching die Mannschaft after the world cup, should probably try very hard to make Weigl work.

Lol why do they even bring Marquez on past sentimental reasons

Come on mate, have some respect for a legend of the game. If he wasn’t up to the task, they wouldn’t bring him on in a game they were winning vs Germany, possibly the biggest win in their footballing history to make sure tackles, play calm passes (one pass today aside) and lead their defence.

Age doesn’t matter - Look at VDS.

Marquez is well known for losing his head at times. Not exactly the type to be out there to control emotions but perhaps more for control of the middle of the pitch.

Rudy's playing for Germany.:lol::lol: Why not Gündogan?!

I never thought I'd ever say this about Rudy but he might be exactly what Germany needs right now. There's enough talent on that squad, but a serious lack of players who just work hard.

That's gotta be hurting his pay packet?

I somehow get it now after the first shock, but still... He barely played all season. Must have impressed Löw during training session.

Still Müller over Özil is a joke.

Only if it came a bit earlier , the last 15 odd mins would have been even better

11 Korean players still on the pitch at FT is just an absolute joke

Hope Sweden get a result against Germany today. That would really be something

Mexico weren't very impressive. There was a lot of bad decision making and American field goal shooting out there
