ollie tabooger

Called Sweden rabble before and they are truly rabble. As much as I would have loved Germany to be out, seeing Sweden in the next stages would have been awful viewing.

Sweden are out. Won't beat Mexico, even if they do won't be by enough goals.

The Swedes just did a first class bottle job. Should have had at least 3 goals in the first half then they play like wimps in the 2nd, even after going up a man. The foul on Kroos kick was clumsy and totally unnecessary. The free kick was fantastic but only a 2 man wall and no one on the far post for Sweden. They are total dumb asses Sweden!!

Problem is I think Sweden just defended so much they couldn't change their mentality even after red card. In any case they did have a few counters and were caught trying to go for the win to knock Germany out tonight when taking the ball to corner flag and getting the draw would've been smarter option.

Hard defeat for them but they did well to qualify and make this group as competitive as they have.

The faces of all the players in slow motion during the flight of the ball from that free kick - Kroos probably looked the most scared of all, while the eyes of the Swedes were getting ever larger

He's German.

They win stuff.

I'm Pakistani and have never stepped foot in Germany but I've supported Germany since '96.

What's made me invested really was the period where Germany were poor and weren't winning anything, stuck by them throughout that period (with all the ridicule from my Brazil supporting brother and cousins) and that only grew my support for them.

I would dare you to find a more avid German supporter than me :D

Lots of ifs and buts before the final games. 1-0 wins for Sweden and Germany would put three teams on six points and 3-2 goal difference. The results vs Korea might then be erased, and Mexico will be eliminated because of fewer goals scored (1-1 vs 2-2 for Sweden and Germany). Maybe.

Deutsche Fußballmeister Toni Kroos.

We want big players living up to the big stages and big moments. He did it.

Nah Kroos should be running the game not scoring last minute winners. All that goal does is cancel out him giving the ball away and getting pushed aside for the Swedish goal. He's been a massive disappointment overall.

Football can be a cruel, cruel sport.

It's.

Sweden fans are hitting their heads against a wall now while Germans are celebrating like no other. It's a sport you can really hate in a game and love at another.

Best ones are those who aren't invested much in it and watch for fun but these aren't many.

This is a WC being decided by moments rather than great play...Belguim and Russia aside.
Its wide open but it screams Ronaldo to me

Mexico who have been great are on 6 points and could easily end up out while Argentina have been crap, they are on one point are still favourites to make it. It's weird how the groups work

Germany will beat S Korea and will beat the well 4 or 5 -0, Mexico and Sweden will be close , Sweden could just nick it. The problem is the Mexico GD its is +2 to Sweden's 0, Sweden would have to win 3-0 dont see them doing that.
Germany to top the group on GD and Mexico 2nd again on GD Sweden 3rd, all with 6 points

For how they've played so far Mexico have been one of the best teams in the competition. Really don't see them losing to Sweden, they deserve to win the group.

Yes. Germany did have that difficult period but even then, they probably have the best mentality in football.

So it makes it easier as a fan to believe in them.

Well they obviously haven't been a great indicator for Brazil's level who've looked red hot up til this tournament. B-countries are troubling them. Friendlies bleh
Switzerland will trouble everybody. And in two games the adversaries created a total of 1.5 chances of goal against Brazil. Compare it with other favorites that allow dozens of chances each game.

The style is not beautiful but is not so bad as some here are saying. Especially because Neymar is not fit yet and its like playing with 10 men.

It's only cruel if you've been robbed of something you deserved. Sweden were a bunch of cowards and actually played since the sending off. They can feck off

Sweden always play like this in major tournaments, they just have less quality upfront than in previous tournaments when a Larsson, Ljungberg or Zlatan could create a goal out of nothing.

Guess they used up the 50 yard goals in qualifying. ;)

Welcome to the group of death, all..

Sweden will have to come out and play vs. Mexico, which favors Mexico because they usually struggle against very defense-oriented teams. Mexico needs this to be a more open game. Expecting a slim Mexico victory for this one.

Germany will annihilate Korea. Can only expect Germany to get stronger and more organized after this.

Mexico and Germany to pass

If Sweden beats Mexico 1-0 who goes through? Does it come down to the number of yellow cards?

Both on 6 points, 3 goals for and 2 against.

Miranda-Thiago Silva might get exposed in knock outs. Surprised Marquinhos has dropped out of contention as he's been a regular last 18 months and gives Brazil extra pace in the back 4.

How is it easy to support them in a game like this

But yea, 98' and 04' were absolutely horrible to watch (I didn't following Euro 00 a lot).

No way they fluke yet another tournament, especially one with one game more.

Will with what's going now Brazil and Germany will clash with each other in 16th round, and if Argentina pass the group they'll clash with France in 16th round too. Portugal can sneak their way to the final with this rate.

When exactly was this? The worst they've done in a world cup since 1978 has been the quarter finals, with their 2 wins well spaced out, and Euro 96 in there too

This game is gonna be shown in the academies for the next 25 years on how not to manage a game or set up a wall.

What a bunch of spineless morons.
