I have a bad feeling about tonight, Iceland syndrome I guess. No confidence whatsoever.

You know what would be refreshing? If England just went out and wiped the floor with them. Do them good and proper. So many tournament let downs in recent years.

Temperatures going to be around 17 degrees apparently. Suits England down to a tee. last week was around 30 degrees in Moscow.

Happy that Sweden is on at 4pm, shorter day at work.
Hoping to see an England-Sweden quarter final.

I expect England to lose. Until about five minutes before kick off when I'll get giddy enough to actually be disappointed when they do.

Should Colombia progress, we’ll have five teams at the quarter-final stage who’ve never won the World Cup before. That in itself is a great reason to cheer on the South Americans as it increases the chances of a first-time winner. In fact, there’s a great chance that all the previous winners will be on the same side of the draw come close of business tonight (if England are beaten). It makes things very interesting for the neutral.

I don't think it will be easy for us against the Swiss. They seem tough.

Surprised how many people think Sweden are better than Switzerland.

Switzerland have a better team by a decent distance for me. They'll be the only team to avoid defeat to Brazil at this WC aswell I reckon. Sweden's 3-0 over Mexico was a great result but I'm not sure how much of it was down to a Mexican brain freeze with all the permuations chasing goals etc.

Bookies can't call this one. Full time score Sweden are 2/1 for the win, a draw is also 2/1 and Switzerland are 9/5.

Massive day for England, today. It's true they have a clear route to a potential semi-final, but they haven't been truly tested yet (the Belgium game not counting for obvious reasons). I think if we win today, expectations and the general feeling surrounding England would rise even higher - in fairness, if we can beat Colombia, the QF/SF games will be against teams of similar standards so it could be a good indication of what's to come.

Colombia 1-0 England.

I agree - Switzerland are very solid defensively. They are incredibly difficult to beat - just look at their previous form. Reckon it'll be a low scoring game, if not a draw with ET.

They will be missing two of their back four for this game through suspension, including their captain. That also means Djourou be playing!

No class at all

The Sun isn't representative of England whatsoever tbf.

Sweden 0-1 Switzerland
Colombia 1-2 England

But got this feeling England will bottle it, hope I am wrong! :D

Interestingly, looks like Colombia will be bringing in another central midfielder to replace James Rodriguez, rather than the expecting change of Muriel down the left.

A more defensive approach by Pekerman?

I think Sweden v Switzerland will be the surprise of the WC with an entertaining game.

England to lose on penalties with Rashford missing his.

The pun isn't bad, the stereotyping is!

Would have been funnier if they’d just left out the “and er other stuff”.

Tacky and shit front page.

On topic - I’m betting on the bottle tonight. England/Colombia HT/FT.

Rashford is not their superstar. Harry Kane is.

Will miss some of the Swe-Swz game. With my luck it'll be a high scoring classic rather than the dull 1-1 most people expect.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping so I’ll just tape the Sweden- Switzerland and put in on later tonight.
Colombia-England is going to be a cracker though.

Unsporting of Swedish players to taunt Xhaka and his Albanian Eagle celebration prior to the game. But adds a bit of spice to the game though.
