Where the feck is the brutal disciplined Sweden that dispatched Mexico and Switzerland? It would be dire for WC ratings in neutral countries if this team makes it to the semis.

Happy for England and my English friends. But if they want to close this they need to take Sterling out. The man’s finishing is abominable. He can be so clumsy for a top footballer.

In the future I reckon that Sterling’s name will become a byword for bad decision making. “ Johnson gets the ball, takes on a defender...is throuugh...ooh, what a shame...did a Sterling there”
 
What gets me is that not only does Sterling fluff chances but he also won't release the ball to someone else who's open. It's double damage.

I'm expecting a similar game tonight. Hopefully we'll score in the 1st just like England.

Given how England have prioritized fishing for pens on set pieces you have to think that their opposition would be massively targeting Smalling for the same at the other end. I scoffed at that pre tournament but given the way England have played it is the type of thing that would bite back at some point.

Disagree. I don't watch that many EPL games and I've been saying he'd own England's defence in no time. A much more important player than Smalling, Jones and the likes. Now it might be too hard to grab him to United.
 
Sweden just don't look good. Are England seriously going to get to a world cup final without facing a better team than belgium's reserves? lol
 
From his time at Liverpool, Stirling's biggest issue was decision making, and it still is.

He has not progressed, I think the city system, and the players around him, are masking it at club level.

With VAR Smalling would have given a few pens away , shirt pulling .
 
If we're still 1-0 up at around 65 minutes get Rashford on and we should rip them apart on the counter.
 
Still think Sweden have got a bit more to offer in the 2nd half.
 
Sweden are just shite, losing and won't leave their own half.
 
Good save, but Hart's experience would have been more important for us (haha)
