Fantasy Premier League 18/19

20th September

Risers (3)

  • Holebas Watford £4.9
  • Laporte Man City £5.6
  • Hazard Chelsea £10.9

Fallers (2)

  • Rashford Man Utd £6.7
  • Christensen Chelsea £5.1

Did Mané -> Hazard and Rovertson -> Alonso, and already regret it. Liverpool have the easiest fixture this weekend, and Chelsea are bound to slip sooner rather than later.
I’m thinking of Salah out hazard in. And alexanderarnold out Alonso in. Maybe stupid for this week

Salah has his final chance in my team. Will Captain him and if he doesn't return big at home to Southampton, he's out!

Don't think Mendy will play this weekend. Injured plus Sane looks to be back in form and favour too and Pep never starts both of them.

I think I'm guna sell him and take the risk he doesn't come straight back in for the game after.

The risky/brave captaincy play this week is Salah and I'm going for it!

If you have Salah in your team this week, and don't put the armband on him, then he's a waste of space and money really. Either captain him this round, or get him the feck out.

I've put the armband on him, and won't transfer out until I use my WC (maybe not then, either). I reckon he'll start firing soon, as his underlying numbers are great. 2 goals in 23 shots, and 5 big chances missed. He'll start scoring 2-3 of 5 big chances soon enough, and more than 2 out of the next 23 shots will convert.

Keep your knee still gentlemen.

Bookies odds for best captain this weekend are Salah>Aguero>Hazard if anyone is interested btw.

Of course that doesn't take into account minutes on the pitch....

Salah at home. Haven’t scored in a while. Cap him.

City lost. Looking for a reaction. Kun hasn’t scored in a while as well. Cap him.

Haz on fire. Sarriball. Cap him.

It’s going to be a long couple of days.

What's the likelihood that Otamendi plays this weekend or gets more chances in this team now that CL has arrived?

I am bottom of my draft league and have the opportunity to nick both Danny Rose and Otamendi for Schlupp and Young.

Really tough captaincy choice this weekend between Hazard, Aguero and Salah.

Salahs fixture is slightly swaying it for me at this point.

Out of interest how many points do people think a wildcard is worth?

I’ve take a -8 already this week and with Pedro injured I’m tempted to bring in Maddison, Fraser or Richarlison for a -12.

Typically I wouldn’t wildcard at that stage, and also ideally I want to leave it till Salah’s fixtures clear up in a few weeks time to restructure the team and bring him back in.

Why do people hold on to their wild cards so long? What's the strategy?

I usually play it between weeks 3-5 as in that time you get a good grasp of who is in form, which new transfers get in the starting 11 and which promoted team players play.

I usually play it in the international break but I didn’t have any need to this year, started strong and was floating between 6k-10k between gameweeks 1 to 4. Why would you wildcard in that situation.

I think you’re undervaluing the usefulness of the chip, it’s the most effective chip in the game (I’d say its worth 24 points on average) so you should just throw it away because you usually use it on a particular week.

Case in point is everyone selling Salah this year given his poor fixtures. I’ve sold him for Hazard which is a good move, and with the wildcard in tact I can restructure the whole team in three or four weeks when I inevitably need Salah back in. If you’re not on a wildcard that will be a lot harder given he’s 13m.

Good point well made.

I used mine week 3 and that allowed me to have these bad boys all in one team:

Ederson, Alonso, Bennett, Beastaka, Mendy, Hazard, Salah, Lucas, Richarlison, Kun, Mitrovic & Ings

It also allowed me to get rid of:

Eriksen, Lacazette, DDG, Pogba, Cairney, Peltier

I was also able to avoid negative price changes, allowing me to have a great base team that only now needs small tinkering here and there...

Brought in Lukaku and Fraser for Auba and Miki.

I really do hate this new Arsenal team because the old one was kamikaze with their all out attack. Their style of play has completely gone from full on attack to patient build ups from the back and it's gonna take time for the team to adjust.

I have a funny feeling Lukaku is going to go on a nice little run in the next couple games. I'm gonna leave Zaha in and if he doesn't do well against Newcastle I'll bring in Wilson/King.

Palace just don't look like a team that's up for scoring more than 2 goals in a game.

So just checked the Europa scores and Auba has nicked 2 goals and Miki 2 assists. Have I made a mistake by getting rid...….

Mkhi is such an absolute WUM of an FPL player. He probably will grab a goal and assist at the weekend, would be typical of him after everyone drops him.

Let's hope not and he stays on the bench for 75 mins.

Gone for this, feel quite happy about it, but need to get Richarlison in, not sure who to get out, tempted by Mitrovic or Zaha tbh...

Very tempted to ship Aguero and bring in firminho... But if you transfer out Aguero , its bound to come back and haunt you...

Same can be said for liverpool

Maddison of Leicester or Richarlison now he's back but away to Arsenal....

City play Cardiff away then Brighton at home. Absolutely mental to ditch Aguero right now, although after that Brighton game it's definitely worth considering as City have a tougher run fixture wise. They'll still win most of them but don't think they will score as highly as other teams in that run.

I don't have Fraser in my team. I hope he doesn't score another brace against Burnley. Everyone seems to have him in their team now.

If Salah doesn't do the business at home to the saints then I can swap him for Mane and save £3m but how would I invest to improve what I have?

Ederson
Mendy, TAA, Alonso
Mane, Hazard, Richarlison, Lucas
Ings, Aguero, Mitrovic

Subs: Hamer, Beastaka, Bennet, Stephens

The obvious upgrade I can do is Mitrovic to Lacazette but not sure that's worth it...

Cant believe you are still holding on to Salah, yes his underlying stats are good but hes not earning enough points to justify the money you could spend on other players. I dropped him last week for Hazard who i had conveniently had as captain.

Thought it from the start, Mane over Salah for me, especially with the price difference.
