Anyway, Ed targets only out of contract managers. so we need to stop thinking about managers already in contract, unless they get sacked or something.
There're only 3 managers out of contract now, Jardim, Zidane and Conte.
1- Conte : He just refused Madrid because of not getting full power, and fell with Chelsea board due to transfers problem, not to mention leaving Juve mid way in preseason because they didn't give him what he needed in market. I'm not sure he's going to entertain the idea of working with Ed tbh. Don't have any problem with his style btw, it's actually pretty decent on the eye when applied well, but he wants full control and he's not going to get it with Ed around. He doesn't shy of slaughtering the board in media too.
2- Zidane : Talked about him several times, very good manager, not sure he's what we need now with his lack of definitive style and the task of rebuilding. Can see him ending in the same way Mourinho ended, but in a more "classy" way. We should think about him when we're sure we have a team ready to win.
3- Jardim : My best shot. I don't think he's going to win much here in terms of trophies, but he's exactly what we need for 2-3 years. Will develop our young players, play very decent football, coach our players how to attack and build the squad well in 2-3 years. We can then move on from him to someone like Zidane to start winning trophies. City are going to dominate the next few years anyway, so no need to be in a hurry for a short term fix imo.
