No, I honestly can't think of many more jarring scenes pacing wise. It felt incredibly off.

I'll rephrase and say one of the most jarring scenes from any top television show. I can't remember worse pacing.

'Let's just switch to the future so we can ignore all the fallout from this decision'.
 
Bran' been the bookie's favourite by miles all season so I guess people in the know made a fortune from it.

To be fair, that was incredibly poorly done.

The queen dies, next moment Greyworm has Tyrion on trial then just decides to let them pick a king who then lets Jon off.

Some people have gone way overboard as usual, but he's right that was particularly jarring.

The scene was that bad I almost expected to see Ned Stark waking from a long winters sleep.....’it was all a dream’ type of terrible.

That I can agree on, and this season (probably everything after S4 or so) has left a permanent stain on the series as a whole, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I still enjoyed parts of it, especially if you took it for what it was without being too annoyed about every plothole and the pacing etc.
 
I also found it funny how Grey Worm turned into a wanker personality wise when physically it would be impossible.
 
People have been complaining it about the show for several seasons now (not always fairly, I think) so I don't know why they expected to enjoy the finale (although as I say it was much more of a return to the early seasons, so I thought maybe they would).

It's fine to be invested and disappointed but I get tired of the RAAAAGE every time something isn't just as people wanted (The Last Jedi, the Inbetweeners reunion - I mean, what did people expect a clip show to be, for heavens sake?)

I saw it that with Tormund being there, that he was defo gonna go like he wanted in a previous episode. I think it was him going where hes most loved and that was 'part of the plan'.

And on the other side of the coin, people are allowed to express opinions. In fact, we'd have nithing but mindless shit all the time if we just accept everything and anything.

As always, there's a middle ground.

Yeah, they were giving him exactly what he wanted in the end whilst the Unsullied and Dothraki (the kind souls they are) bought it.

So he got his ending at least.

I doubt it.

Overall, across all the seasons it was a great show. But this final season was poor. The finale was terrible.

6 episode limit to rush through 3 seasons worth of story. But it wasn't even done with any consistency or depth of thought.

I also enjoyed parts of it.

Episode 2, 3 and 5 I actually thought were really entertaining television (in isolation) and I enjoyed it.

The first episode I thought was pretty mediocre and then I have 4 and 6 down as legitimately bad and not enjoyable to watch. Even in those episodes there were excellent scenes, but overall I didn't enjoy either.

The scene from episode 3 where the Night King walks up to Bran and it cuts to a number of characters struggling was legitimately one of my favourite scenes in GoT history. I'm not here to say it was all terrible.
 
The writers were always creating a problem for themselves bu just having 6 episodes to explain everything. This season deserved more episodes and with better explanation it could have been a good ending. Last 20 mins felt so rushed , it was like hey you all have 20 mins just do everything quickly and pack up.

I don't mind bran as the king, maybe that is why night king was after him as he always knew he would be the king and rest are pawns. But lack of explanation killed it. Jon snow as a character was dumb but he deserved better or atleast he himself should have said I want to go at the wall and rebuilt it and that's always been my place. His character deserved better.

I fekt bad fir Daenerys. She did everything ti become the queen and then was killed like that. She deserved better. I don't think there was much hapoy ending in that.

Anyways the journey was amazing and one of the best shows that I have seen but then ending will always leave with a bitter taste.

Best episode was episode 3 and the worst was the last one.

Because there was still a threat of the dead and him knowing the Wildlings would attack the wall.

Didnt like any of the first 30 mins of ep6?
 
7 hours to get through 2 battles and the surrounding politicking was more than enough.

Season 8 was great apart from post-Daenerys scenes, imo. And that wasn't because of being rushed. It was just a poor choice of tone.

He was originally going to, but so many people bitched about him not saying bye to ghost that they had to reshoot.

Now they'll have to do the entire series :(

He's also Lord of the most powerful and populous Kingdom (now that the Lannister gold mines are dry) in all of Westeros :lol:.

I assume Tyrion inherits the Rock and Lannister lands? Tywin would be fuming.

Oh yeah, I did. I already said in one of my earlier posts that I was actually really happy for the first 30 minutes or so.

That opening scene was brilliant, really well shot. Tyrion was also fantastic and back to his best, the writers decided to restore his character for the finale after choosing to make him be a tit for the entire last 2 seasons.

The first 30 was 9/10, and then the final 30 was 2/10 and they basically undid all the good work they'd done. Like I said in a previous post, it's like it became a completely different television show and they really had no idea whatsoever how to close it out post Daenerys death.

I don't know but the scene looked very suspect when I initially saw it. I thought it looked like a real rush job, edited badly and the animation was very off. I just assumed they had cobbled it together in the last few days to shove in at the end, but if it's an old model animation then that would also make sense.

Has there been any explanation for that horse that safed Arya at all, anything I missed there, or did they really not bother to explain that at all?
