WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

I like their passion. They clearly want it more. I only wish your lot showed a bit of fire like this in the CL final.

Yeah totally losing your heads and crying to the referee is great pashun. They're losing 3-0, good job wanting it more.

We didn't show enough in the CL final but we would also have lost had we been tits and completely lost all our composure. There's a healthy balance between showing a bit of fight and not getting overly emotional and losing your heads.

Rightfully or not, Cameroon has a history if (perceived) injustice at world cups so it’s kind of understandable that the players feel hugely aggrieved today. We feel that football authorities have always had it against us at international competitions and we have to fight against a million odds to win anything.

Yeah but haven't all the decisions been correct?

All the decisions today have been 100% spot on, just assuming there's some agenda against you rather than getting your heads in to the game is a stupid decision. On the pitch you keep your composure.

You might feel that way but the authorities have done nothing wrong today. Getting in the officials face for doing a good job is disgraceful.

Which matches are you referring to? Just curious...

Why doesn’t the ref even pretend to check herself before overturning her initial calls? It would do a lot psychologically to calm the Cameroon’s players who now might just be feeling like unjust decisions are being taken “upstairs” by some obscure hands (aka FIFA).

There’s zero interpretation when the question is simply if the active player has any part of their body they can score with beyond the last defender. It’s a technical decision. There’s no reason for the ref to look at it.

England’s men’s team were on the wrong end of a similar decision in the Nations League semi final recently. It sucks but as the rules stand - it is what it is.

Why change the rules just because you've got a bunch of unprofessional whingebags on the pitch? No matter what you say, the players are clearly at fault here. Nobody else. VAR has been applied correctly. Cameroon can count themselves lucky to still have 11 on the pitch after the elbow in the early stages.

All decisions today might have been correct but the process made it questionable in the players minds. Maybe after the match, with hindsight, they will realise it but I can’t be too hard with them right now.

Have England played well? And if so are Norway screwed?
I think England are an "ok" team but really don't rate their defence. Going forward, team looks decent.

Like most of the world, they adopt the "pass it at all times, regardless of pitch position" tactic and I don't think they've got the players in defence for it. Could've been caught out several times in the tournament but got away with it.... better teams will/should pressure them and will probably capitalise.

From what I've seen, England and Norway look pretty even.

Kirby has been shocking. Don't know why Neville keeps playing her.

If they aren't willing to play the game by the rules, then perhaps they shouldn't have played at all.

Sounds good. Hopefully Norway have enough to knock England out.

I’ll give you just one example: England v Cameroon WC QF in Italy 1990. I know there was a lot of naivety from Cameroonian players letting England come from behind to win it (with two penalties) but most people in Cmr will tell you the ref helped England win on that night.

We have had good goals refused for close offside calls (Omam Biyik v Chile in France 1998) and very harsh reds called against Cameroon. It’s an accumulation and today’s game will contribute to that perception.

Every team has decisions go against them. Every. Single. Team. That doesn't excuse the behaviour we've seen today.
