Despite both pledging to leave the EU, as if it is in the country interest, both are promising Brexit stimulating packages.
If Brexit is such a good thing why should we need such stimuli.
Even worse, the money Hunt at least and probably Boris are pledging will actually come from increased borrowing.
They both say that their promises are fully costed. However, the Chancellor is reportef to be very unhappy with that because it appears that this extra borrowing has already been allocated to infrastructure projects.
Now. Why does that not surprise me...

This is part of the problem when the Party can just nominate people based on how many seats they win. Less individual scrutiny and more cnuts.

Personally id still rather remain than leave but if somehow we do remain I would hope that we could be a catalyst for reform and for me that accountability and frankly getting people to take the eu elections seriously in terms of policy and scrutiny of candidates (certainly in the UK) would be a good start - but i suspect it would be a very long and painful process... plus I suspect we wont remain and if / when we do end up crawling back it will very much be on the EU's terms
The whole Brexit is a massive clusterfeck. When you go for something as extreme as this, usually you already have a lot of done deals, you already gathered other commercial partners ready to fill the gap left by leaving the EU.
Instead, we are watching politics in panic, and no one has enough courage either to reach an agreement or to do an hard-brexit, simply because there is no alternative market and commercial routes on the short term, no special import/export taxes negotiated, etc
Soft or hard Brexit, the UK will not find good conditions when negotiating imports/exports with other countries simply because they know UK urgently needs new commercial partners.

There used to be when he was Clown Mayor of London, I think in that thread that a lot of people said they liked him too, how times have changed.
It would be a good idea if the UK had better deals with other countries/partners. I actually thought the UK had made some good terms by using the Commonwealth as their major business platform and was going to have the last laugh (brits are historically known for having great strategists), but now I'm completely positive that there was never a solid plan on the table.
This whole situation would be quite "normal" if it happened in a south european country like Portugal or Italy, where usually people tend to be more passionate when taking decisions. I would never thought to see a norther european country in the middle of such a disorganized process. It's being a completely subversive situation.
There is only a very limited ability for a country that is in the EU to negotiate trade deals. My understanding is that the UK will essentially have to wait until they actually leave to start negotiations. By then everyone wil know they can get a good deals as the UK will be desparate for quick agreements.
That aside it is still a terrible idea on all fronts.
actually I think you can negotiate any deals - you just cant sign them till your out ... that said most of these deals take years to agree
I'm sure informal talks could occur but I think formal written negotiation can't be entered in to (or signed) by individual EU states. But as you say, even if you can/could it takes years anyway.

You stand correct. That doesn't mean you cannot reach an agreement (even if the other part fails to meet some points in the future). I think the whole situation escalated very quickly and suddenly things went out of control.
I kinda understand some parts of the Brexit: the EU was far from being fertile in terms of good deals for the UK, and the German-French connection managed to become very dominant inside the EU and got the better deals out of the all countries.
While for countries like Portugal / Greece is a bit indifferent since we are a sort of cannon fodder for cheap EU labor, for countries like England and Italy (one of the world's most productive countries in terms of wealthy products) it might be seen as a frustrating experience.
I also didn't realise the only real reason this Brexit-cnuts are going to Strasbourg, expenses paid is because that is the only way they can get paid by the European Parliament.

It was Grayling. Mostly because the why don't Sinn Fein take their seats argument never seems to go away but also I would say describing the Irish and English relationship as tribal fetishism is a pretty big understatement.

Never thought I would say this, but Sinn Fein's refusal to attend a parliament they don't recognise, nor receive an MPs salary, makes them look like moral giants next to the Brexit Party's MEP tossers.
