If McT or Fred or out we have Matic, Pogba and VdB who are all capable of playing as a CM. How many other teams have five CMs in their first team squad? Not a rhetorical question. Genuinely curious if you can name any?

Whilst what you say is true it raises concerns about squad depth over the course of the season in midfield. Even if Donny gets a chance
They are/Can be but they don't count as options there since the only players Ole now plays in the pivot are McT Fred and Matic.
Therefore we have 3 players for 2 spots. 1 is now injured and the other lost his legs a long time ago.

See above. We have 5 CMs in our squad. I don’t think many (any?) other teams have that many.
Whether we need to upgrade some ofthem is a different issue. But an injury to one of them doesn’t really change that.
If Ole used Pogba or VDB there it wouldn't be so bleak but since he doesn't we have 3 players for two spots. 1 is I injured, 1 lost his legs and the other is Fred.

Liverpool have Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Keita, Milner and Ox? Plus that Jones lad. But I agree with your overall point - plenty of depth there it’s just the natives are restless because we haven’t signed anyone for 10 days. For the record I think we will sell Lingard and sign a CM but we have a good squad regardless.
After seeing Matic 2 yards off the pace, and Fred playing a 1-2 with the Southampton ball boys, if we do not go and get Neves now I WILL LITERALLY EXPLODE WITH RAGE.
We play 4-2-3-1. Neither is trusted nor effective in the ‘2’ - Therefore Matic and Fred are our only options.
Didn't Pogba start the EL final in CM cause Fred was injured? He will obviously use his alternatives when his starters are out. He might not be rotating when everyone is fit, but he does when faced with lack of other options.
Ole can use Pogba or VdB there if he needs to. He will need to if we get injuries. That’s why we have a squad and not just eleven first team players. Every other club is the same.

Well if we were thinking of signing a midfielder but wasn’t 100% sure then now we surely will as Ole doesn’t trust VDB at all, doesn’t trust Pogba in a double pivot and if we can see Matic shouldn’t ever play more than 10-15 minutes at the end of a game to close it out then surely Ole can too.
I think Tchouameni is extremely gettable now Monaco are out of the CL whilst Camavinga is very much available as he won’t sign a new contract nor do Rennes don’t want to lose him on a free, they are two of THE BEST young midfielders in world football and already no worse than we have whilst having potential to be serious upgrades so at £20-£30 million neither is a bad choice.

Im absolutely terrified of having that midfield pairing.
You know exactly what I mean. Pogba will get shoved back there but considering he’s just posted five assists in two games from further up the pitch then I’m not blown away by the prospect.
Van de Beek remains a mystery, and must have played there for the club fewer than five times.
The same pairing that won something like 8/10 games after lockdown with us playing our best football since Fergie and winning by 3 clear goals in the PL 4 times on the bounce - only time it’s ever been done. Disaster.Pogba-Matic double pivot

I recommend the board buys RICE for 125 million and pays Pogba 800k a week...Then we just need a Keeper and a RB plus a few more players for squad depth! then I'd be confident of beating Wolves.
