Do we know when boosters might be made available to under 40’s? I’m keen to get that in my arm ASAP.
Rumours that next week we'll see it opened up to the under 40's.

Yep. Booking system has changed to allowing over 40s to book at 3 months + from second dose. Expected to change next week (basically once the pre-Christmas slots have gone) to include under 40s.Rumours that next week we'll see it opened up to the under 40's.
How many jabs will we have to have in the end? 2 or 3 a year?
Sorry to hear.I am just under 40 and had been hoping to get the booster in before Christmas… but I’ve just caught Covid and tested positive after developing symptoms on Wednesday evening.
Ran a fever for just over 24 hours… muscle aches and a headache. Now feeling better and just have cold like symptoms - stuffy nose and slight cough. No loss of taste or smell thankfully.
Over in Tameside, we've got vaccine buses offering first, second and third doses to anyone over 18. My wife is under 40 and is booked in at a local vaccination centre next week, so you should be able to get one whenever you want, I'd have thought.Do we know when boosters might be made available to under 40’s? Sorry to hear.
I’ve got identical symptoms and took a PCR this morning, but I’ve been getting negative LFT’s all week (I complete them daily for work).
How did you test for it?
Which is more beneficial to Boris? That's the only thing he cares aboutSo are the figures bad enough for Boris to push the button on another Christmas lockdown? Or is January more likely?

I wonder in retrospect if the entire planet could turn back the clock, would we just switch the world off for 3 weeks and allow the military to drop rations at our doors.
I’m having difficulty maintaining a neutral mentality when it comes to discussing this now, which so far I’ve found to be the best way to avoid damaging relationships. There are people who say “you can’t lock us down, the economy will suffer too much” yet don’t realize that if people get too sick to go to work (particularly in the hospitality industry) then it causes a huge blow to the economy anyway.
Are the military and food supply chain workers immune from covid? It's a pipe dream.I wonder in retrospect if the entire planet could turn back the clock, would we just switch the world off for 3 weeks and allow the military to drop rations at our doors.

Thanks. I expect the PCR to come negative, but have heard of people getting negative LFT’s and then positive PCR’s.LFT… however, I did an LFT when I first started feeling under the weather and that was negative. After a night of worsening symptoms I did one in the morning and that was positive.
I don’t really trust the LFT’s that much but I think false positives are very rare and tbh, with my symptoms I just kind of knew it was Covid anyway. A PCR test arrived in the post today so I will do that and send it back.
Hopefully the work from home order and the closing of schools for Christmas next week will help to reduce the infection rates.
It’s true, there’s just no way of keeping the Travellers locked up.I think about that a lot. But we now know covid can infect animals. So even what you describe there wouldn’t eradicate it.
I suspect by the time it we all found out about it, it was too late anyway. Many people suspect they had something as far back as November 19. The world only started caring when the Chinese started welding people inside their own apartment blocksI wonder in retrospect if the entire planet could turn back the clock, would we just switch the world off for 3 weeks and allow the military to drop rations at our doors.

Wales have moved to weekly reviews. I expect them to require Covid passes for all hospitality soon. I’d prefer this over “Rule of six” though, which basically ruins Xmas socialising. They'll do everything they can to avoid a lock down but more and more tightening of restrictions look inevitable.
Basically watch what Scotland and Wales do. We will do it a week later.
Can anyone explain to me why there is no mask mandate at football matches?
Ok. Honestly didn't know that hordes of people standing shoulder to shoulder and screaming and shouting for about 90mins are safe just because they are in an outdoor setting.Because it's outside?
There's also an exception to the mask rules at events etc to say that you can remove a mask to sing. As things stand that applies to audiences at pantomimes etc as well. Not sure if it covers people singing along with the Christmas songs in supermarketsOk. Twitter reporting that the NHS England booking system is accepting booster bookings from 30+ group now (even though the message says 40+) It was expected to change on the 13th but it's not unusual for the system to change before the message does. May not be working in every region yet or offering nearest test centre etc.

Although you can book, I believe it won’t let you book for a date sooner than your actual due date in relation to your last jab. I’m in the 40+ and booked just before that sector was opened up but the first date I was allowed to book was in direct relation to my last jab. Not sure mind you but that was the case for me.Twitter reporting that the NHS England booking system is accepting booster bookings from 30+ group now (even though the message says 40+) It was expected to change on the 13th but it's not unusual for the system to change before the message does. It's precisely why I think mask mandates are important. Much easier to make people wear masks and keep every activity open rather than no masks and then be forced to shut things down.Outdoor transmission is rare but you are right I think packed like sardines and also congregating in less ventilated areas + in certain areas then using public transport etc with this variant is asking for super spreader events to happen.
Unfortunately I think there will be pragmatic approaches regardless of how bad this things get to avoid the kinds of lockdown we've seen before because quite simply I don't see the public appetite for them, nor do the government have moral authority anymore on this.
