Nah it would just magnify the fact he never won anything. He could go to Bayern, win a couple of German titles and maybe a CL, come back and still break the PL record (although admittedly he's no spring chicken).
It's all about the medals though.
Nah, the league is competitive enough to not need Spursy taking points. We will be fine without them. But the fall will be immensely entertaining, and I hope we are the first to strike a blow. I'm eager to see it. Unless they end up getting bought by Qatar, of course.

Believe me, if there was the slightest possibility they might sell to us, I'd be hoping Levy folds at some point but if he doesn't go to Bayern he's going to renew his contract, and even if we offered £200m Levy isn't going to accept.

If we had waited out Højlund, we could have missed out on both. Spurs are under no obligation whatsoever to accept our bid, even if it matches Bayern's offer. It could have been a disaster where we'd hold out all Summer for Kane, miss out on him, and then someone like PSG picks up Højlund instead of us.
We did the right thing. I love the idea of Kane playing for us...if you completely ignore transfer fees, wages, the protracted saga that we'd have to go through to get to that point, the age of the player, dealing with Levy, and so on.
And even then it would beg the question "Why are we paying 100m for a single season of Kane when we could have him for free next summer?".
I think that’s utter nonsense if I’m honest. No way does he turn down that much money just to save face.
As great as Kane would be, he isn’t in the twilight of his career. Despite being 30, Kane still has at least another 5 years at the top level.
We have no chance of keeping Hojlund happy for 4-5 years as a rotation player. For him to develop he would need more game time than Kane would allow. It would be very rare occasions we could accommodate both on the pitch at the same time.
Although I agree we need an experienced striker too, Kane isn’t the one to fulfill that role. Especially not for the money required.
The experienced striker to offer the rotation would be someone like Zlatan or Cavani who have been top level but coming to the end of their career and wouldn’t cost a lot.

B. Please list me the examples of this? In a singular window. Also for the love of god people stop saying Spurs are rivals. They are not our rivals. We aren’t Arsenal
C. He’s already folded. He’s accepted a bid. Our people unware of what is actually happening here. Look beyond your noses. Spurs have accepted a bid for Harry Kane to leave their club. That means they are ALLOWING HIM TO LEAVE.
I am absolutely certain we would have waited IF there was any indication Harry was open to move but it never came. He was Erik's top target but when it came to the crunch he didn't want to push for it.
Yes, multiple times over multiple years. Hence the reason they're only negotiating with Bayern. Do you think they're the only club to have shown an interest in Kane this summer? What do you think the PL clubs were told? Chelsea need a striker, why have they not made a bid? They have the money. We've been looking for a striker, why haven't we made a bid?
It all makes sense when you see what's really happening and not what you want to happen.

Yes you are right, we dont have the cash by all acounts. It will be interesting though if Kane is still hanging around Spurs last week in August and Utd put a big offer in, I'm sure Joe Lewis will be breathing down Daniels' neck to take the cash.
None of that has happened yet though, but we'll see.
I suppose it depends on what United value Kane for 1 season. It's a signing that could win us the league... is it worth 100m? I'd say yes. But on the flipside, say he does his ACL, it's a loss of epic proportions.
If he's not going there, he's signing a new contract for sure.
Spurs have already said if he doesn't leave before this weekend then he isn't leaving at all. In my opinion, the only reason Bayern are going so hard now (instead of waiting until January where they can land him for free) is because he will sign a new contract next week.

I get your point about Levy not wanting to sell to a rival. But every player has a price regardless of who the buyer is.
Moving to Bayern doesn’t show ambition. Stay at spurs this season, leave on a free next year to us and help us challenge.

Eh? Bayern have won the last 11 league titles. In the prem during that time, there have been 5 different winners. How is that "no difference"?
I wouldn't be wanting us to bid £100m (or whatever figure Spurs find acceptable) this summer, but if the opportunity is there to get Kane on a free transfer next summer, I'd absolutely want us to be in the mix. Getting Kane in, or another player with equivalent goalscoring record, is the best way to close the gap to City in the shortest period of time.
If he is the difference between us potentially winning a league title or not, you worry about the longer term issues of player happiness later. City have two in Haaland and Alvarez. They won't both be happy with that forever, but in the meantime they're hoovering up. You'd like to think Hojlund will be a hit but there's no guarantee of that happening either, it minimises risk. It might well be that Kane falls off a cliff when he's 33 or 34 as well, in which case you have Hojlund coming into his peak years at 23 or 24 years of age. I think it would make a lot of sense.
