Looks like something was stuck under Alonso's car most of the race or broke suspension arm housing.

Virtual Safety Car kind of saved Red Bull from the worst.Hell of a drive by Sainz, genius to make sure Lando always had DRS.
Crazy Max did that good with all the safety cars being so poorly timed.
On another day he had the pace to fight for the win. For a shit weekend by the team Max really salvaged it way more than could be expected

That's the track where its easy to keep those behind you even in drs range and not worry about getting overtaken unless your car is dramatically less powerful than the rest. Seinz could afford to slow down in order to extend tire range and still not worry about losing P1Its about challeneging for P1. We had a thriller. 3 different manufactuers within a second or two for most of the race. Not every race has to be about the most overtaking, its circuit dependant. That was a cerebral, slow burner of a GP that paid off towards the last 20 or so laps.
I havent had that adreneline buzz, nail biter feeling from F1 GP in a long time
Rather have that everytime than max driving 30 seconds off into the distance in P1 after 10 laps.
But doesnt suprise me Max/RB fans didnt enjoy it.
It's all about the battle for P1 though? Adrenaline and all thatLando on why he didnt attack Sainz. When is the last time in F1, where two drivers from two different teams worked together to secure the 1-2 finish? im struggling to think of one.
"Amazing. Great race. No overtaking on track but perfect strategy. A great pit stop from my guys to get ahead of Charles and a good strategy," said Norris.
"Both Mercedes boxed and I thought it was a guarantee that they would get back past me, but I managed to hold them off. Carlos helped me achieve that. We worked together pretty well to help one another. If I got overtaken, he would have done.
"I had to play it tactical. If I attacked Carlos, I probably wouldn't have finished on the podium. I had to play it smart, and Carlos played it smart. He was clever with it all, so congrats to him."
This is the opening paragraphs of the summmary of the race fron The Guardian. It's all about the battle for P1 though? Adrenaline and all that
Beyond weird. If it wasn't for the SC it would be your standard issue street circuit snoozefest.British sports journos being bitter shocker.

Also "the battle for P1 is all that matters" and in the same time you have drivers at P1 and P2 basically helping each other. What can I say, edge of your seat stuff.
Why? He's just not likeable at all.I find it hard to believe so many people here dislike George Russel. He is not half bad as some make him out to be, pretty weird stuff.

Indeed you are in the minority on this one.I find it hard to believe so many people here dislike George Russel. He is not half bad as some make him out to be, pretty weird stuff.
Now this I don't think is correct but I don't watch British media regularly. Its just something robot-y about him. Very advanced humanoid but just barely still in the uncanny valley. He also gets a bit of the Rosberg treatment, for daring to beat Sir Lewis over the course of a season.
He's fine, just like leclerc he makes mistakes (slip of concentration) under pressure he cant afford to make if he ever wants to win a WDC in the future.I find it hard to believe so many people here dislike George Russel. He is not half bad as some make him out to be, pretty weird stuff.

If I'm Williams I'd certainly be speaking to Lawson and seeing if I could secure him to replace Sargeant if AT don't want him - there's a few races left to properly watch him as I remember being impressed by De Vries in his stand in stint last season and we all know how that turns out
Did Perez have a different set up to Max? Max was slicing through the field at the end while Perez continued to toil. He's usually decent on street tracks too
The race was really dull until the last few laps however that's the closeness at the front people want especially on a better overtaking track that would have been really interesting

If it wasnt for one clever double stack by Mercedes it would have been a literal procession from lap 1 to lap 62. With them all on dog shit tyres for the last 20 laps.
The first P2 told to stay 5 seconds away from P1 and back up the entire pack. Another P2 told to hold off and not attack P1 for what, 30 laps? And a third P2 literally working together with P1 to maintain their positions.
What it shows is that sports journos and pundits, especially British ones, know feck all about motorsport and really just care about thenamesnationalities on the podium.
It can't be that weird because that safety car and double stack did happen. You're basically saying 'if the thing that made the race exciting hadn't happened it would've been a dull race, so it's weird that people say it was exciting', which is kinda weird to be honest.
It was debris picked up in lap 2 from Perez Tsunoda crash.Abit of the williams carbon fibre?

Its not too bad on here, quite tame. Stay on here for alittle while and you can figurebout quite easily who is a fan of what team.I wish we could go back to when people who discussed these things discussed which back street boy was likable. I blame unity media and netflix.

He didn't really salvage anything. He started 11th and would have finished 8th if not for Alonso, Russell and Ocon throwing it. Though Ocon not really his fault but was having a great race.
Thought we had a chance to see Merc back on the podium in a 1-2 but really clever by Sainz knowing he'd finish 3rd if he didn't help Lando.
Indeed. Last few laps were great but the superlatives to describe Singapore when we've had several races that were fun from just about start to finish is hilarious.British sports journos being bitter shocker.

I was very impressed with Sainz this weekend. I think more than a few wrote him off as a ferrari no2 prematurely. The car has been quite unstable and the twitchy rear end had been difficult for Sainz to manage. However as they have stablised the car with recent updates, it seems to have come back towards Sainz.I don't think that's it, pretty sure the people who like Lewis generally like George too.
Anyway, enjoyable race yesterday and great to see the red bulls out of contention for once. Shows how great this season could/ would have been without them really as so many other teams have been close to each other all season.
How long does sainz have to match / beat le clerc for before opinion swings to him being as good as / better than him? He was brilliant all weekend.
