He agreed with blatter who said united are enslaving Ronaldo. What more do you want?

No, Blatter did not say that in reference to Ronaldo. I watched the whole interview and Blatter actually said -

"I think in football there's too much modern slavery in transferring players or buying players here and there, and putting them somewhere," he continued.

"We are trying now to intervene in such cases. The reaction to the Bosman law is to make long-lasting contacts in order to keep the players and then if he wants to leave, then there is only one solution, he has to pay his contract."

This was said in general terms, not in relation to Manchester United or Ronaldo. The question he was asked when answering with this had nothing to do with the situation, Ronaldo agreed with this part which was in direct reference to him -

"And he urged Manchester United and Real Madrid "to sit together" if Ronaldo wants a move to the Spanish club.

"The important thing is, we should also protect the player," Blatter told Sky News on Thursday.

"If the player wants to play somewhere else, then a solution should be found because if he stays in a club where he does not feel comfortable to play then it's not good for the player and for the club.

"I'm always in favour of protecting the player and if the player, he wants to leave, let him leave."

That's exactly what Ronaldo agreed with, he was asked the question about what Blatter said regarding him and that above is what he had to say about the situation. The "slave" comments have been used to apply to Ronaldo because they are more sensational, and when he agreed with what Blatter had to say about his situation that gave more fuel to the fire. You can look at it as you want, but I would not say that Ronaldo called himself a slave at all, he just basically agreed that United and Real should come to an agreement.

Those people saying they're coming round to him just want a signing.Any signing.

Come on Berbatov, sign for the champions of England and Europe. It's not too hard is it ?!

Is it out of desperation for SOMETHING to happen in this crappy summer so far, or genuine believe that he'll improve us alot.

his quality is unquestioned, and i've never been against his signing from what he'd bring to us in terms of squad and on the pitch. i've only always been against his signing because of the numbers being tossed around (specifically from glaston that is). At 20 million i'd take him here without a doubt.

Emil Dantchev, Berbatov’s agent, said: “I cannot make any comment until there is official confirmation from Tottenham or United.”

if the quotes are true, then yes probably

I still reckon Benzema is the better choice, but Berbatov isn't too shabby either...

Of course...but i assure you he's the one.

Alex Ferguson will not win another champions league for this club - Gus Hiddink 29/05/2007

:)

He's a very good player but let's wait for a more solid foundation. We need something more concrete. And spurs will make it it tough

He wants to move, if we want him its a done deal.

re the quote find the my post and you'll swiftly discover its a sentence taken out of context... unless was the very next word that the idiot mod failed to included in the quote..i wonder why!! :p

p.s where is rossi?
If we go for him i'll reserve judgement. At the moment i'm not convinced.

Like i said, by the end of the season you'd be calling him the best striker in the world.

Some people might want a clinical striker but having three players capable of 20 goals a season isn't bad...and even the most clinical of strikers is capable of missing or having an off day.

Ole was never an exceptional goalscorer but he scored when it mattered - yet people would say he was clinical more often then not. Funny old game

I think Berbatov is a better choice than Benzema. But in the future Benzema can become a great player. Its important to remember that Berbatov is proven in the Premier League and scores goals for fun at a shite team like Spurs :D

Benzema is definitely a better choice because of his youth etc. but we aren't getting him this season whatever happens. Benzema will move clubs in the next season or two, we just have be there when he does.

Berbatov however, saying this time and time again, would be perfect for us. He will get goals, but more importantly, he'll assist a hell of alot too.

He agreed with blatter who said united are enslaving Ronaldo. What more do you want?

It is more journalists twisting than what was said.

How do we know exactly Ronaldo heard? Maybe he just heard that Blatter said he should be allowed leave.

Now that's a bold statement.

Like hargreaves did before we had to wait another year to get him? The clubs have an element of power.

Oh and incidently if you read, I don't doubt we'd get him, the question is have we made a bid.........you should know not to believe everything you read.

Nice tagline :)

Rossi's a good player, anyone that thinks he ain't is silly. He's in spain, playing for a good spanish club I might add because he wanted first team football.

I wouldn't bother trying to be smart....

Incidentally I am pro Berbatov and have on more then one occasion tried to justify why the price is no reason to give up.

after the 'excitement' about huntelaar, you can forgive people for being a little meh.

Now that's a bold statement.

Not really. im not saying he will be the best striker in the world but you'll be seeing threads left right and center saying is berbatov the best striker in the world etc. Is berbatov better than cantona..bergkamp...etc. Thats my humble prediction in months to and years to come.

LOL you're the mug that insisted rossi was staying put...the future of utd etc.

I put myself on the line as i always do and was proved right...as i will be again...and again...oh and again.

the future of united? Your a real spaz aren't you. The future of United is rooney, Ronaldo etc (for the moment) who have experience. Players like Rossi compliment this (would have), the likes of evans, maybe now young wellbeck

We WANTED to keep him. I really think you should stop.....

What were you right about? You're not making the deals dick, it's Sir Alex.....

I think maybe you are moving ahead of yourself. With Keane a possible target i don't think Spurs would be in such a hurry to sell Berbatov as well.

you were not saying all that carp before we let him go. Hope this helps?? Go away anyhow, im here to discuss berbatov.

lol what did I say? Most people recognize Rossi is a talented player. He went to Spain and has done well, prior to his injury. Hope this helps? I think your just reminding people what a condescending prick you are. Oh and falsely arrogant

Your a spastic. Hope this helps. You don't own this site and I was talking about berbatov

Rimmer?..

Zero chance that berbatov will stick around while keane shoots off...zero.

If keane stays they've more of a chance to keep berbatov because there is a sense of something building.

You only had to watch spurs last season to see berbatov thinks he stayed at spurs a season too long. Even if spurs play hardball i expect the player to kick up a real stink (sadly) if he doesnt get a move.

Its a matter of a move to who not if in my opinion.

Remember when you had a mental breakdown over the fact we were buying Tevez? Good times :)

p.s. Berbatov would be a great signing.

I said it was a strange signing.....UNLESS he was signed to be part of the strikeforce and not the strikeforce.

I said very clearly id be amazed if rooney and tevez were our frontline pair for the next 5-10 years.

Tevez is an amazing 3rd striker/squad player but berbatov would take us to a different level with the skill set he has that neither rooney nor tevez have.

Seems like fergie agrees. (hope this helps?)

smeeeeeeeeeeeggggggg heeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddd

No I think the fact is Rossis gone, oles retired, Saha we accept is gone, Manucho might not even get a work permit, campbell, wellbeck lack experience, strength - so basically we only have two strikers we can count on to play

This season as we know, we've got an awful lot of games. I think THAT actually is a reason why we need a striker

As it turns out Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney is about as good as you can get.

But we have Saha for that.

Reminds me of Cantona.

I have reservations about his work rate, and attitude, but if the 20 Million figure is anywhere near correct, he would represent great value for money and a much needed addition to the squad.

But we have Saha for that.

Indeed, but we dont really due to injuries. Were saha fit all season he'd start for us, of that i have no doubt.

This is not a slight on tevez (or rooney) but what he brings to the table is something neither do. Saha is a top player...but we all know how that sentence ends.
