Yes, much much better. He's not mentioned much, but IMO Samson was the best left back in the world in his prime. Very skillfull player who would be very suited to the full back role of today.
He as an individual was a winner type.
He mostly played for rubbish teams, hence didn't win much.
For me, his display of blood ment feck all.

He is all time top goalscorer, so should get some recognition. Although that does tell ya something about the quality of strikers they've been producing recently.

Hoddle was regularly dropped from England 'cos he was so difficult to fit into a team, but not good enough to build a team around.
