Would an all time Scotland XI beat an all time England XI

From what Ive seen...

Banks
Cohen
Samson
Moore
Rio
Hoddle
Charlton
Coppel
Brooking
Marsh
Lineker

Maybe a little light in midfield, but it certainly would bring some much needed entertainment to England.

Rodney Marsh was always a better cricketer tbh

Was Sansom better then Pearce?

Yes, much much better. He's not mentioned much, but IMO Samson was the best left back in the world in his prime. Very skillfull player who would be very suited to the full back role of today.

A winner? what did he ever win?

He was all hype. The blood flowing from the cut on his head, elevated his status.

He as an individual was a winner type.

He mostly played for rubbish teams, hence didn't win much.

For me, his display of blood ment feck all.

Yeah but you're not a vampire.

Robbie Savage is a winner too.

He's only 35.

I thought Charlton retired before 74?

Marsh was a fecking great player... shame about the booz & injuries. It was a toss between him & Osgood.

luckily they invented video recorders in the 80's...

I would like to have picked i.e. Edwards or Matthew, but I haven't seen anything of them at all.

Never heard of one of them.

Please explain.

Murph will be along soon to present his XI, with Edwards and Matthews playing alongside Tom Finney in a cavalier England rearguard.

No Giles?

Do us a favour and change your name eh? I always mistake your posts for mine and read them thinking they're posts I've forgotten about, which results invariably in disappointment when I find that they are in fact the musings of a far less distinguished poster.

Cheers fella

Then Pearce what?
Sansom was better then Pearce missed a penalty and then scored one in the next tournament thus elevating him to the traditional "die for the shirt" clogger status (so beloved of Ingerland "fans")?

What are you, the spelling police? Or just plain stupid?

Obviously I meant "THAN".

Shows how bad Ireland's strikers usually are then doesn't it? He has scored a lot of goals against bollocks teams and in friendlies though hasn't he? The Irish Peter Crouch if you will.

Your opinion of Robbie Keane wouldn't have anything at all to do with him with him playing for Liverpool, would it?

Then again an all time Englan XI with the likes of Banks, Moore, Charlton, Greaves, Edwards, Hoddle, Robson, Shearer, Linekar, Gascoigne, Beckham, Barnes and so on would give 'em a game and a half.

For Scotland, how bout McCoist, and Colin Hendry? Both great players in their day.

Hoddle was regularly dropped from England 'cos he was so difficult to fit into a team, but not good enough to build a team around.

Barnes was very disappointing for England.

I think Scotland's best would beat England's, and I'm English.
