Inter Milan vs. Manchester United

According to our television... O'Shea problary won't play because of his injury...

I like this formation,it's all about containing them and unleashing Rooney and Tevez in the later stage of the game.A tactical battle as Mourino has his usual formation whereas SAF has surprised us with this

If we concede early we could be in for a thrashing.
Can't see how a thrashing is possible. We're playing too well as a defensive unit to buckle and take a thrashing.

Us thrashing them is a little more possible but still pretty unlikely given the line-up we're puttting out.

Its going to be tight game.

I still find it hard to this day to decide who was MOTM in that match.

Can't get over how amazing we were.

Giggs'll get my vote though, just because I'm a Giggs fanboy.

:D

Fairplay.

Fletcher, Carrick, and Giggs were all amazing. Smith and Rooney were excellent too. So was the defence. Thats the whole team.

Van der Sar, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Berbatov, Ronaldo.

Subs: Foster, Rooney, Nani, Scholes, Fabio Da Silva, Gibson, Tevez.

I was almost right...

I think Tevez and Rooney will come on after 60 mins though.

as in wrong formation and players

formation is as expected, although surprised rooney isn't in there somewhere.

BREAKING NEWS :nervous:

lol

Don't you just find it reassuring to repeat that vital piece of information though? I'm still bricking it like, being Manchester United or not. But we are. We Are, We Are Manchester United

How is it more possible, they are at home and with their strongest line-up bar Samuel I think.

If we had Vidic I'd feel a lot more comfortable right now.

Weren't we all expecting this? except for Rooney offcourse. If it get's too tight, he will be vital for us to provide energy from the 60th minute onwards. All in all i am more than happy with that line-up and can see us atleast getting a draw out of this if not a win.

I'm a lot more confident about this match, don't see Inter as a big threat to us at all.

I think we'll do the best out of the four English teams.

Inter are not as good as being said by some anyway.

Yes they are a good team, with good players just like everyone else in this stage of the tournament.

Don't think they are capable of giving a team like us a 'thrashing' though even with the problems at the back.

They lack the speed and fluidity to their game even at home. They are very strategic.

bench looks worrying if a defender can't last the game

I know just yanking on your milli chain mate.

We are United, and I know for a dead cert. fact Inter supporters are fearing us as we've lost a bit of sleep over them.

This place will explode regardless of the result, I just hope it's not a 0-0 result

And they have two inexperienced players in their back 4, so hopefully we can take advantage.

the teams exactly what i had though it would be..

rooney played the whole game last time out after his lay-off so am wondering if he shall play the whole game.

if fletch is not needed in defense then our midfield could look like -

ronaldo-fletch-carrick-giggs-park ; with berbatov up front

thats a good sub bench indeed. and berba shall have a blinder

Get Rooney and Tevez on at half time, so they can run at the Inter defence like ferocious rottweilers that have just been uncaged from a life on confined misery.

THIS WILL BE A MASTERSTROKE BY FERGIE, MARK MY WORDS.

Like I said it's a surprise.

I have a feeling Park will do well in the attack. He's very intelligent on the ball, clever turns and short passing.

The one thing that we did very very well last season was defending from the front. Tevez and Rooney give you that in spades. I cant see Ronnie and Berba do the same. From a betting point of view Inter are now clear favourites IMO

In SAF i trust, and it wouldnt be the first time hes fooled the lot of us!

CMON UNITED

But going off last season and this, our strength probably is playing this sort of game.

Our strength is to attack we have added a lot of defensive steel over the last two years but we still play better when attacking teams. I think we are going to miss Vidic badly tonight if we play cagy as he clears alot of ball out of the box with his heading ability. It would be much better to really go for it but it looks like we are trying to keep the tie alive and finish it as OT from the lineup. I had a feeling Rooney wouldn't play but I thought Tevez would be in. On the bright side Giggs is in wonderfuly form and in a free role could really show something tonight. Ferguson is normally proved right so I am not going to question the team selection too much.

Exactly, imagine a performance like that today.

Magical.

The loss of Vidic can't be helped and would impact us the same regardless of who plays up front.

This United team can attack and sit back equally well. It's the whole point of having this deep squad and range of players, so we can change our style to suit the occasion. As you said, if we can get them back to Old Trafford with a decent enough result tonight then we'll be in the box seat.

Not very likley that night we were at old trafford and had to go for it, with us being behind in the tie. I expect a match like the one vs Lyon last year tonight, very tight and hopefully we can nick something.

Completely agree, they've only impressed me twice all season and I've seen them quite a few times.

Unfortunately, those two games were both in big games.

They're not fluid, but they know how to be effective.

We know how to do both though, thankfully.

I think it'll be more like Roma last year, which we were quite comfortable in really.
