Manchester United vs. Sunderland

So? We have enough players on the pitch to be able to defeat Sunderland. Rooney and Berbatov are still playing. Fletcher and Scholes should take them apart. Welbeck is a good player and he deserves a chance after a good League Cup showing. Have more faith!

You don't need to convince me, I've every faith in the team that is starting putting Sunderland to bed, but I'd have liked to see more of a threat on the bench.

Fergie must not rate Sunderland at all, by the looks of this midfield.

One of the most in form centre mids in Europe, one of the best passers England's ever seen, one of the most talented wingers in Europe and one of the most talented young players from our youth academy in years...yep, it's really lacking in quality.

At some point we had to try and get 3 points without Giggs... And I've been quite happy with Welbeck when he's been used wide. It gives Nani a game and helps to develop Welbeck, so hopefully we can get the result here.

The battle in midfield between Fletcher, Scholes, Cana and Cattermole could get a bit feisty. Could see a few yellow cards dished out by the ref today.

Struggling?

We're giving an exciting young prospect who's very comfortable on the wing a run out, it's not like we don't have any wingers left, we have Park, Valencia and Giggs who can all do a very good job besides the two wingers here.

I'd rather see him upfront. The fact that we have so many wingers in our squad and still play Welbeck outwide says something as well.

I'm sure he'll do well, but it indicates SAF still doesn't feel Valencia is 100% ready, while Park and Giggs are out for different reasons. Which just leaves Nani. Hence my statement.

Today is going to be the day of Berba showing the world he is the man.

I tinkered with my fantasy football team today and Berba has made a come back...make me proud Dimi

I put Fletcher as captain in my fantasy league team. I'm banking on a goal and man of the match performance.

Hes a better striker I agree with you there but I think your reading too much into it. Welbeck needs games to keep progressing. This is as good an opportunity as any. Doesnt have to reflect badly on anyone else

Welbeck won't give a flying feck where he is playing once he is playing. He'll relish the opportunity either way. I think he might grab a goal. I agree, it's a good opportunity for him.

Not really. Valencia has always been prefered on the right. The one time Nani starts over him, Giggs isnt playing. Which suggests its Nani left, Valencia right and no changing.

Maybe I am. But given the choice, it shows SAF would rather drop Valencia than Berbatov to make way for him.

I think it has more to do with the fact both Giggs and Valencia played on Wednesday and he wants to give them both a bit of a rest while Park's not had the best start to a season, so he thought it was a good opportunity for Welbeck.

Welbeck's still a good player on the wing so really we have a number of options there and he's one of them rather than the other way around.

Of course he would, Berbatov is a much better player.
