Liverpool Vs Manchester United

Gerrard must surely be out, he hasn't even trained today. I think Torres will play as he has done. Aquilani has played 15 minutes for the reserves after being out for over 6 months, he's no chance.

I'm actually not too bothered if Rooney is missing as I can't ever recall him playing particularly well against Liverpool and the idea of Owen playing for us at Anfield is definitely appealing. Rooney's performances just prior to the injury were sub par by his high standards also.

I am expecting one or two surprises in our line-up, possibly Evans in for Vidic.

Me too, like Ferguson for Scholes. In all honesty I can't see SAF really changing it up that much, he always go with the proven players he trusts in these games, that said I have no doubt Evans would do a job

You don't remember that game we beat them 3-0 at Old Trafford then

I remember the game, but can't recall that he was especially good. It has to be noted that they had to play half the game with only 10 men too.

If it's Rooney you're talking about, that game was one of the best I've ever seen him play for us. He tore the Liverpool-defence apart and Carragher couldn't live with him. He made some really devastating runs behind their defence and was a constant threat all game. A missed couple of one on ones but still, fantastic match by him.

I couldn't remember his individual performance, it's a few years ago! In general, especially at Anfield, I can never remember him playing particularly well. He tends to get a bit involved with the fans and atmosphere and struggles to make an impact. It is difficult for forwards in those kind of games as they tend to be very quick, physical encounters with few chances.

True. It'll be interesting to see how he'll do against the big four this season noe that Ronaldo's gone.

He has scored against L'Arse and Chelsea albeit in the Shield and scored in the Derby and against Spurs. Not bad against tough opposition without Ronny.

In fact, we seem to be creating more chances than last season and we look far more dangerous going forward.

We look more dangerous going forward but we dont have as sharp teeth

Winner to score with Owen?

Calm down, dear.

i hope rooney makes it. his intensity, along with the obvious, will be missed if he doesn't play. defensivly i don't want to see any uncontested pool dribble, pass, or shot.

Without Fletcher we would be in deep trouble. They would probably boss our midfield easily, even with the likes of Lucas around. Having Fletcher back is the key to be successful at Anfield.

Carrick's probably our best penalty taker, so I would say him.

Maybe Nani if he's on the pitch.

Would Carrick have the bottle after fluffing his penalty against Burnley? My order is:

Hargreaves
Rooney
Nani
Anderson
Giggs.

I disagree, if Fletcher is out as long as we play the right combination in midfield we'll be fine.

What's the injury update for both us and the dippers ? Gerrard and Torres still out ?

IF Torres and Gerrard is out, then Benayoun will become their most dangerous outlet with his runs from midfield. We need someone who will match those runs. Anderson doesn't always do that, nor Carrick. We need Fletch to play to maximize our chances to win
