Fulham vs Manchester United

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Vidic
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Fletcher
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Rafael, Smalling, Carrick, Nani, Owen, Hernandez

We surely cant loose on the same ground 3 years in a row? 0-2 to United Berbatov & Scholes scoring

VDS
Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra
Nani, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs
Berbatov, Rooney

Subs: Valencia, Scholes, Smalling, O'Shea, TK, Chica, Owen.

Dropping Tony V. because of a poor performance. Came back strong but, just back to playing full games so a break might be good.

Scholes won't play every week - he needs to be managed and Carrick/Fletcher certainly can stack up against Fulham's mids.

But its only another 2 matches in the league before a 2 week break for internationals. In this sort of form we'd be mad to rest him imo when the seasons only started

Maybe this is his homegame season.

Gayyy, assumed this was a 3pm Saturday affair.

Potentially a sticky tie, but I think we'll get revenge on them for last season and finish quite comfortably. As long as we stay tidy and tight in the middle, we should be fine.

Starting XI: ----------- Van Der Sar -----------------------
O´Shea ------- Vidic ------------------ J.Evans ------- Evra
- Nani -------- Carrick ----------------- Fletcher ------ Park
-------------- Rooney ----------------- Berbatov ----------

Starting XI: Kuszczak, Rafael, Brown, Giggs, Valencia, Owen, Chicharito

No Scholes cause it´s a small pitch and he was never good at Craven Cottage.

1-1 (Davies - Nani)

Could someone post the website with the times and channels for the stations showing this in the US? Gonna be Stateside for a few weeks unfortunately

Evans

Fletcher
Scholes
Park

Valencia
Nani
Rooney

Subs

Berbatov + Hernandez for Rooney and Park after 60 mins.

With the tough fixtures against Everton and Liverpool quite soon, we need to get the likes of Park ready, as I'd be amazed if he didn't start at least one of those games in an advanced central midfield role. If the team was picked on form then Hernandez would have started against Newcastle.

VDS
Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra
Nani, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs
Berbatov, Rooney

Park or Valencia probably in for Giggs + Hernandez in for either Roo or Berbatov during the second half

Why are so many people dropping Valencia?

Will be a very tricky tie as always. But I think we have enough to knick it 1-0.

i really hope we can win this by more than a goal.

Comfortable wins over chelseas and Newcastle and the quality in our squad suggests to me that if we play reasonably well we should win this game at without too much trouble

but as you say the trip to fulham is a bit of a banana skin sometimes. I would be happy with a 1-0 but hope for more

I hate to see park and rafael start on the right hand side especially away from home.

If he does start in a 4-4-2 then he'll probably be penciled in on the left with Nani on the right. With the actual game to unfold in more of a free-forwards type situation like we used to do before Valencia came.

For me he he has just come after a very long lay off and in his first 2 games back was excellent but, perhaps the NC was a sign of him not being 100% back. The players that would be in his stead aren't exactly poor - for me it is Nani right and Giggs left - for others it's Park on the right with Nani starting on the left. It won't be a big drop off - might even be an improvement.

Yeh fair enough.

Will be a hard game as ever. Newcastle at home wasnt really a test and allthough we were great as the game went on we were a bit sloppy at the start and gave the ball away easy at times. In fact thats normal at this time of the year. The thing is that Fulham would punish us for such errors. All in all i am positive that we can do them. In contrast to last year we even have a back four consisting of defenders.

I really have to say O Shea was the one player that made the most unforced mistakes against Newcastle and allthough i nomrally like him he would be the only one i would give a rest and bring Rafael on instead.

--------------------------Van Der Sar-------------------------

--Rafael-------------Vidic-----------Evans------------Evra---

---Valencia-------------Park--------Fletcher----------Giggs----

----------------------Hernandez---Rooney---------------------

Scholes will be rested. I will be surprised if he plays. OOh, the hand ball incident comes to mind at fulham all of a sudden. lol

I think Owen will be an early sub for this. Quite alot of players need some playing time and they will be biting their teeth to get going. We lost the last match and this time round it will be a different story. We will thump them.

I can't see Berbatov being dropped seeing as he was very good against Newcastle and if the midfield 4 are the 4 you mention then it would be Giggs in the middle with Park starting wide.

He had 5 missed passes out of 56 including 1 clearance into touch, in comparison to Nani's 16 out of 42, which included an unnessary step over in his own penalty area. Nani made a lot more tackles though albeit most of them unsucessful.

The stats only tell half of the story. O'Shea was very iffy on Monday. He's generally very solid though, i'm not worried about him.

What has Nani got to do with Oshea's performance against Newcastle?

Because the person he was quoting said that O'Shea made the most unforced errors so he was pointing out Nani made more.

Oh well then.
Thought it was about OSheas performance overall.

Anyway I think we should give Rafael some time and let him play against Fulham

Always a tricky game, I got my 3-0 prediction right with Newcastle bar the Hernandez scoring late bit..... otherwise I think 2-0 because we're yet to win there and I just think Fergie will be desperate to win this one and keep the momentum going. I think we can do it but just about. I expect quite a few changes and a 4-5-1.

Same team as the one that beat Newcastle for me.

We know that's very unlikely to happen, we usually see 2 or 3 changes between games.

e.g Community Sheild ... Evra in, Rafael out, Fletcher in, Carrick out, Valencia in, Park out, Berbatov in, Owen out.

I could see something like:

Van der Sar; Rafael, Vidic, J. Evans, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs, Park, Rooney

Subs: Kuszczak, Brown/Smalling, O'Shea, Nani, Scholes, Hernandez, Berbatov.
