Shameless Musketeer
So much for English players and loyalty
To be honest, 'I can't see him doing...' statements don't really mean much do they now? How many people couldn't see him do this? Well, he's gone and done it. As far as I can tell, all bets are off with what he'll do next.
It has feck ALL to do with Rooney whether or not he agrees with SAF and his recruitment policy, what the feck does a little scouse chav know? compared to the greatest manager in English football?
Livvie do you think this could possibly be because of the clubs financial state? I can't get over this thought. I hope it isn't a result of our debt, whether it be on his belief that we're the club is well on the decline, or us needing the funds. That's a fear I have. The perceived reasons seems tame in comparison.
I agree, he'll get over it. And soon. But the point is Rooney made him like that... and I've never seen him like that before. I don't think anyone has. Our manager is a legend of the sort that only comes around once in a generation and he's been totally betrayed by a player he trusted. Unforgivable.
If Rooney goes to City, it literally will be a player bigger than a club. That's actually possible for him at City.![]()
Do we actually know Mourinho thinks that or is that just based on Ballague's speculation?
All I've heard is that Mourinho feels Rooney will stay at United which I thought was interesting...
2.32pm Apparently Rooney was stretchered off in training today so Ferguson was telling the truth about his ankle injury.
Any bets it might have been Gazza taking his ankle out?
I don't get all this "Nobody is bigger than the club" bollocks.
It's not like he's made any ridiculous demands or ultimatums. We don't even know why he has decided to leave yet ffs.

Why do people keep thinking this? Real Madrid and Barca don't want him, they already are fully stocked with just as much or even more talented players in the positions that Rooney can play. His lack of true technical ability with the ball at his feet would be found out in Spain. His style of play is not fit for La Liga.
and at this point there are MANY individuals I would rather have playing for my team
I'd back Fergie regardless of the "if".
I've said it loads of times, and I actually do mean, that I'd back Fergie unconditionally, he's earnt it.
Obviously you can fly into hypotheticals like "What if Fergie deliberately attempts to get us relegated?" but within the realms of realism, Fergie's earnt my complete and utter trust.
Unlike countless other Judas buggers who've begun to plague the club, SAF has always been there (he's been at the club longer than I've been alive) and he's never shown a sign of anything else being even remotely bigger than the club.
Mourinho on Sky: "I wish that Rooney stays at Man Utd forever..." but says if Man Utd want to sell, they should call him
Mourinho said tonight he'd love Rooney at United and was sure every club would be in for him.
It could well be - and if he's that shallow, I don't care whether he goes or stays.

Yeah just what I posted.
Jose really badly wants Rooney to stay at United.
Why the flying feck would anyone want to leave United?
He said he wanted away in the summer!Like I've said in other threads, IF it's just personal problems things may settle down in a few months time and he'll happily sign a new contract. I'm sure most of us have been in a dark place where we're not thinking clearly for a while, and I'm hoping that's all that's happening here. That's why I'm hoping the fans don't get on his back too much until we know more about what the hell is going on.
some posters are probably meaning that Rooney is as good as gone now. Everything he has done to the club and SAF has shown that he does not give a shite about United or SAF.
Also, why give him the chance to recapture his form if he is about to head off to City or Chelsea? Pointless
But we have no factual information on the situation except that he wants to leave. So what is this based on? How do we know he doesn't give a shite?
We don't. All we have is speculation.....and to think how people on here (justifiably so) slap down any media story with no factual base....
So how about we wait for the evidence to be presented before he's convicted and hung, eh?

If he said he wants away, don't play him... Simple as that.
feck off.
I'd rather United finish mid table than play him to "prove his value".
Let the kids have a go.
United >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Any player.
Maybe I've missed this but if Rooney's agent told Gill on August 14th that he wanted to leave why does SAF still not know the reason? Has SAF not sat down and talked to Rooney to find out why or is he just not telling what the reason is?
Whatever the reason I think it is a shameful way to treat the club and I am shocked at Rooney especially after saying he wanted to stay for life not long ago. Maybe his wife is insisting on a break from England to save the marriage?
You're an idiot.Pardon my thickness, but I'm not sure if he is just stalling for a better contract, or just wants out completely.
But anyhow, if he is in form, play him, for the good of the team. We can't waste time and points over sentimental/emotional reasons.
Our own manager has said he wants to leave. What more clarity do you want?
It's not bollocks. I means that the club will carry on and players who don't want to play for it and don't feel honored by wearing it's colors can well and truly feck off. It's a sentiment most of us believe in.
you're not alone, he got almost all of us pretty damn goodThe more I think about this the more I'm starting to think we should have seen it happening.
Rooney's angry, short-tempered and temperamental, he betrayed his childhood club, he betrayed his wife and he's thick as shit.
He talked a good game though. Had me fooled definitely.
Agree fully with this. I don't want to see him in a United shirt ever again. cnut.Dont want to see him in a United shirt again personally, let him rot for 3 months without football or first team training, he dosnt want to play for us then give him his wish.
