I like you. I would say it's weird that it's taken a City fan to point this out, however this place seems to be going through a phrase of condemning our manager and players and thinking that everyone else has much better cows in their field. Even when those cows aren't even all that good.
Are you being serious? Balotelli was practically disowned by Inter and has so far done feck all at City(mainly due to injury admittedly), Johnson on the other hand(who I've seen a lot of in full matches) has made a big impact and has shown himself to be one of the best upcoming talents in England.
Balotelli has great potential if he sheds this chip on the shoulder he seems to carry but to say he's a "world ahead of Adam Johnson" is wrong.
Balotelli has 30 goals in seria a and champions league and has been talked about by a lot more knowledgeable people than me as being one of the best young talents in world football. Adam Johnson is a decent tricky winger who is 3 years older than Balotelli and has achieved no where near as much as Balotelli. Neither is proven at premier league level yet so we shall wait and see but my money is on Balotelli to end up a far superior player to Johnson
I was hoping we'd go into this game with the six wins on the bounce, and we have. Confidence will be high, but we'll have to wait and see what team we can field. It'll be three central midfield players, though.
Adam Johnson is a decent prospect whos had a good start to his City career. But I am still to see him run rings around a quality left back ( Evra, Cole etc)
But the hype surrounding him is unreal. Look at it realistically, at this stage of his carrer SWP was way ahead of Johnson. He was quicker, was going round quality full backs if they were not there, he was scoring and assisting more regulary than Johnson has. We have all seen how SWP has turned out so I am not getting carried away yet with Johnson.
Balotelli is different, his problems are in his head and not his feet apparently. But hes no more fecked in the head than any 20 year olds. Hes not selling drugs or stabbing people like 20 year old kids do round here so he cant be that bad
Maybe but at CITY Johnson has definitely done more and done enough to warrant a place in the starting line up. Ofcourse Balotelli's been injured but still Johnson has done very well when played.
Johnson has not been first choice for the big games though even when Balotelli has been injured. i think baring injuries the team that starts today will be the team that starts against united and I am as interested as you lot to see who plays
All depends on who is fit. We will get a better picture on Wednesday morning.
That's down to Mancini trying to fit in his super-inflated purchases such as Milner and Silva more than anything related to Johnson's form, because he's been one of your better player's this season and has dug you out of many a hole unlike all the big buys of the summer who by and large have flattered to decieve IMO.
No offence mate but David Silva is a class above Adam Johnson in every way. Thats not even a close comparison.

And Johnson does not play in the big games mainly because Mancini loves to go with his 3 destroyers in midfield and then Milner (big money purchase)

David Silva is the better player, without a doubt. Is he better suited to the PL and has/will he outperform Johnson this season? I doubt it.
Johnson has a heck of a lot of growth potential yet, and will be a class act IMO.

Hard to keep out Fletcher but the form of Carrick and Park are to good, I really hope he plays with Hernandez and Berbatov rather than playing a lone striker, seems like they combine well together as well

Anyone expecting anything other than 4-5-1 is kidding themselves, no way in hell will we start with Berbatov and Hernandez up top for this, it'll be Berbatov alone if hes recovered from the flu or Hernandez alone.

The noises coming out of the club regarding Nani weren't to positive last i heard, unless theres been an update of some kind i think its unlikely he will play Wednesday, i fancy we'll see Giggs back in the team, hes been in training for a while now and was apparently almost selected for the wolves game, wouldnt surprise me if hes back in the team.
As for the flu victims who knows, worrying thing is it could very well have spread further by now, Vidic/Evra and Scholes all had the symptoms and all played yesterday, could have easily passed it on to others.

Hope City don't appeal the red card. And if they do they better bloody get an extra game ban for "frivolous appeal"

If it was 2 yellows then leave it and accept the ban. If it was a straight red then appeal as there was no way that was a red card
