He was fantastic today. I was a touch concerned that he was going to drop Dean at one stage, though.
I honestly can't understand what must have been going through Dean's head when he gave that 2nd yellow.
Was it a dangerous challenge? No.
Was it cynical? No.
Were Spurs stopped from attacking while in great position? No.
Had he been given a warning for other fouls before hand? No.
Really feel for him, because both times he's been sent off he's received a harsh yellow card for the same thing while playing very well. He kept Bale quiet today, and was having a great game.
it was cynical. and he was warned before in the first half for fouls. Playing fullback, this type of heel clipping is done often when you get caught up the field. Sure, it isn't a cynical studs up challenge, but it is one of the snide clips that certainly takes out a player that has acres of space ahead. I know damn well that rafael knew what he was doing. I was ok with him losing it at munich, but this time around there is no excuse. It wasn't an accident, and he should know better.

Why do people say things like this?
He already is brilliant.
Garbage from start to finish. He clearly pulled himself out as much as he could.

Class performance today, gutted for the lad, softest red you'll see all season.

Because it's obvious he isn't the best RB around yet

Offensively class, defensively poor.
Dont like Rafael card waving though like he did in the first half, no need for it.

He has been the best in Europe this season.
Sorry I disagree entirely. A cynical foul would have been if he had intentionally brought him down, which in no way happened here. He slowed up and tried to avoid him, there was a collision. No cynicism there. He'd have to be out of his mind to intentionally foul him there, in a position of the field that's not exactly dangerous.
Free kick, yes, because he's brought him down. No yellow card.
He doesnt know what to do once he reaches the opposite 18 yard box...
Once he made a mazy run.. beat Gallas too i think...Then instead of scrossing to Berba at the post.. he made a weak pass to Rooney and we lost the ball.....
With experience that will come... However what a player we have..
Offensively class, defensively poor.
He did himself no favours with the whole 'I'm gonna run as far away from the ref as possible' act after the first foul. From then on you could sense Dean was going to send him off.
Rafael got in more dangerous situations than Bale in the game. Shame he lacked composure with his final ball.
You overrate Rafael's intelligence.
Ugh we're going to have to put up with O'shea at right back now.
