And he's quite right in doing so!

Absolutely. But I don't think he'll dispose of the other options on the left to make way for Nani. Whether that be Giggs or Park or as I said, Rooney in a 4-5-1 away from home or in Europe or in the big games.

As I said, we'll have to wait and see but I suspect given that there are more alternatives for the boss on the left, Nani won't play as often as he has done so far this season between now and the end of May.

Nani is too good to drop. If someone has to be sacrificed it will be valencia unless his game specifically suits a game or nani is out of form, but I'm confident well play both.

I just love Valencia. He gets the RW position 100% of the time. Nani is great and he can do amazing things at times, but Valencia just gets the job done every time. So fecking good to have that lad back and he doesn't appear to have missed a step.

I was on the edge of my seat every time he got the ball coz I KNEW something good would happen.

Just remembered, did anyone else notice him hobbling slightly after he overhit that cross the width of the pitch? Hope that's not something he's going to feel after the match.

If Nani and Valencia can stay fit and Fergie buys a midfielder in the summer, I think we might finally be saying a long goodbye to Giggs.

The future starts now.

Giggs will play as long as he wants to, I suspect. Given the amount SAF rotates, I don't think he'll retire due to competition for places - he'll go when he decides it's right.

On Valencia, I'm staggered he's come back in this kind of shape/form - amazing.

I think he got a kick from the defender after he hit the cross. Hopefully just bumps and bruises. I know what you mean, though. He's one of those increasingly rare players that tries not to show any pain when they play, so it's always a worry when you see him wincing.

Yea definitely, I was really worried when I saw it but he did seem to run it off pretty quick, hopefully just a slight bump like you say.

Really! I must say he does look more like the stereotypical English CF than winger. Perhaps he'll get a chance but there's at least three other lads in the squad who might not like that idea.

"In the middle" I.E with a midfield three.
here is some white text.

His touch was fantastic today. I've missed him so much.

Thought he did very well again. And right to bring him on for Nani who was having an off day

I thought Nani looked scared all day and at half time was silently hoping while most were calling for Tony V for Giggs, that it would be Valencia for Nani.

There was that one header he placed down the line, I was like what a player. He did get lost one time he came inside and couldn't figure out what to do with his left peg.

Such a great, productive, unfussy winger who will be vital in our run in, and could be the difference in helping us win a trophy or two. Welcome back.

I have to admit I was wrong, I thought it would take him a few weeks to get some form but he has looked sharp in both games.

Not scared no, just more like old Nani giving the ball away a bit too much. I dont think its really a coincidence either, last season Nani was playing really well on the right and then we started moving him to the left again and his level dropped. Wouldnt be surprised to see the same thing this season, as he's already had a few off days since he's started playing left again.

Still, with Valencia coming back strong it wouldnt be the end of the world.

Nani looked out of sorts a bit apprehensive to take someone on - I don't blame him after being scythed down by Carragher.

Someone seems to have not told Valencia he has missed 6 months due to an awful injury.

Credit to the lad and the medical staff.

You can tell he is still apprehensive as he was not going full on for headers - don't blame him.

He has surpassed what I expected from him this season already - just hope he doesnt pick up a muscle injury.

He is stoic

Giggs started and help set up a goal tonight, he has another year left in him of that I have little doubt

-----------Hernandez

-Nani-------Rooney------Valencia

------Scholes----Carrick----

With Nani and Valencia in the team, we can create loads of goals. That would give us four players with real pace. We haven't seen Valencia and Nani play together much since Nani's upward turn in form. I can't wait to see what they produce in the same team.

I think that Nani's just going to have to battle it out with Valencia on the right and I think Ferguson will prefer Valencia there more often than not.

fecking hell, the caf eh

A couple of below par performances and an excellent 70 minutes from our boy Valencia and Nani is back being a "frustration", this despite the fact that he's been winning us games all season doing things Valencia can only dream of. Just be fecking happy to have them both back ffs. Vs. Bayern last year the two of them were sensational and if you think Cleverley will come back and take a spot over Nani in the team then you need your head checked Aaron.

Don't be silly. I was merely pointing out that Ferguson has, last season, given Valencia the nod on the right and Nani played on the left for the vast majority of last season. Idiocy aside, that's what happened.

History tells us that given the choice, the boss goes for Valencia on the right.

Are you slow Aaron? Valencia has no left foot, THAT'S why he keeps the right spot and the more versatile Nani moves to the left. Jeeez!

We'll just have to wait and see to be honest but I think tonight gave you an insight into something Nani wasn't struggling, Giggs is 37 and playing okay but not untouchable. Ferguson could have put Giggs off, stuck Nani on the left and Valencia on the right..

wow, Aaron's on a crusade. I'm guessing he was one of the posters who used to hate Nani? And now after TWO games he's hoping he's on the way to be proven right?

Nani's been fecking injured with a MASSIVE gash in his leg and has only trained for 2 days, no fecking doubt SAF thought that's why he was struggling and thought best to bring him off rather than Giggs. But hey, don't let that get in the way of your crusade to show that "Aaron from redcafe had it right about Nani all along".

fecking embarrassing this place at times.

Anyone has a gif of when he took the ball out of the air almost from over the touchline and brought it down?

Are you seruously trying to imply the reason Nani had a poor game last night was somehow because of Valencia's return? You're off your head, you really are. :wenger:

I'll ignore your sarcasm and idiocy as I do not know if you have serious mental problems and I do not wish to offend. However my point was that if
you shift Nani to the left he faces a greater competition for places, especially in the bigger games where Sir Alex likes to play someone who can hold in that position such as Park (or sometimes Rooney) or the experience of Giggs. I know sometimes Giggs plays through the middle but more often than not that seems to be in a swap with Rooney during a game when Fergie wants Wayne to hold the position on the left.

However seeing as you're being as dramatic as Louis Spence on his period, I suspect you already knew what my point is, you just wanted to prance about like a dancing swan getting noticed with your posts.

No he's making more sense than you.

Yes Fergie likes players who can 'hold in that position'. Like Ronaldo, who played all our big games. He was great at defensive duties. Amazing.

Exactly, I mean, it can't have had anything to do with his injury and only training for 2 days? Or maybe just maybe he had an ineffectual game where it just didn't work for him, like every player in the world has on a regular basis.

No no, it's because Tony is back.

It's a shame because I've so been looking forward to having the two of them back but this place can't just be happy, no no, it has to be Valencia vs. Nani all over again. It's retarded.

No Aaron, your point was, SAF prefers Valencia on the right over Nani. Whereas the truth is, they are our 2 best wingers, and only ONE of them is capable of playing on the left.
