Aaron Ramsey

We got Smalling from under their noses and they were in for Jones. It happens all the time. Win some and lose some.

In reality we had perhaps an even more perfect midfielder with us. We should really be talking about that Blackburn game and Pogba. I don't think its gotten enough airing. White text.

Ramsey v Pogba would be a good thread.

He's just a joy to watch. Truly remarkable.

Lampard got 22 a few seasons ago.

Even though Lampard takes pens and free kicks and seems to play in a slightly more advanced role than Ramsey, the latter's on the way to break his record. Scholes scored a lot of goals one season but he played as an attacking mid back then.

Just checked, Lampard got 27 goals in all competitions season 09/10, but a lot of them were from pens. Ramsey will easily beat his achievment in terms of goals from open play if he stays injury free.

He's basically Arsenal's version of Ronaldo 06/07 in terms of how vastly he's stepped up his contribution and how vital he's become.

Has this been posted here before? (watch the gk.)

The appropriate reaction when you see Aaron Ramsey running towards you.

I think Ramsey, in spite of his injuries is a joy to watch and making a fair number of people eat their words. As for Pogba v Ramsey, I think the new Ramsey would win that one easily. He really is making a difference to your side, and should he not have anymore injuries this season, I think he could get better next season. Your team have got themselves a gem.

To be fair, it's much easier when the fans of your ex-club treat you with the same class.

FFS!! Ramsey didn't retire from the national team to concentrate on his club though, herein lies the difference.

My bad.

Edit: Still doesn't change a thing though. I believe have a better chance of winning the league this season than at any other time. With the introduction of Ozil, and Ramsey coming back from a bad injury, you have to say that their season has changed and it is good that Arsenal are making it a battle and it makes for an interesting battle until the end with Everton, Liverpool, ourselves, Southampton and Spurs in contention. What a great season.

The only genuine 'not celebrating at your old club' I've seen. Too many players being ridiculous about it these days and pointing out the fact that they aren't celebrating so much that if anything it attracts more attention than if they'd just celebrated normally.

Best player in the league this season. I still can't believe how effective he has become in only a few months.

I don't rate him. He'll fade away back to mediocrity before long.
jus' kiddin he's not bad

Agreed. He's an average top four midfielder, nothing more. Cleverley could go on and score 5 or so goals, but it won't make him a world beater. Same with Ramsey.

You must be taking the piss?

Nothing to do with Cleverly, but Ramsey brings much more to the table than his goals. His pressure and tackling is brilliant, he doesn't stop motoring along either.

I meant to say someone like Fletcher. Ramsey is definately a notch above Cleverley.

Nah, he's always had loads of potential, he just was slow to get there because of the leg break and all that. He's got plenty to his game, the goals now just adds to it and makes him stand out. He's really two footed, excellent technically, very good passer both long and short passing, and has very good energy levels. He's still very young as well. This season he's just finally realizing his potential.

Agreed although he is still in a purple patch. I don't see his goal scoring continuing in the vain for too long.

Only Aguero has scored more goals in all comp. this season and that's because he takes pens.

Not sure if you're serious here but he's on a different level to clev atm.

That's some hit. Still gutted he chose Arsenal over us even though it's probably turned out to be the better move for him.
