Also what exactly has he done for them all to seemingly legit hate him as if he's Roy Keane and been breaking legs on purpose. Nearly every post is calling him a "cnut" or "wanker"...

felt he looked heavy myself but didnt lack energy

that burst he made past 3 spurs midfielders was about 10 mins from the end i think

As long as he's qiuck and lasts the entire 90 minutes I don't care how heavy he looks, this is such a red herring.

We all know VDV's an idiot though; goes to close down Giggs, realises he isn't going to pass to him so just completely switches off, until he remembers that Anderson's still only a couple of yards away and then it finally clicks and he starts tracking him again. And Pavlyuchenko's challenge was pretty pathetic. Good to see Huddlestone's still as slow as ever too.

Still, he's one of two players who can and will do that in centre mid for us - probably three with Cleverley - and it's invaluable.

He was a machine last night. He might not be the slimmest but he had more than enough energy and drive. My man of the match last night, he was brilliant

How old was he at the time of OP? 19? 20? You get plenty of disappointments at that age. All part of the learning experience.

He was so young. Perhaps people's expectations for him early on were overblown due to the transfer fee and some promising early appearances.

All well and good that he's started well, but what are we going to do when he gets injured for a couple of months?

He was brilliant in most of the games he played at OT last year and has suddenly added goals to his games. He's got around 6 goals in his last 20ish games played?

Really think this will be his breakthrough season, finally, he promised much in Feb/March (?) last year until he got injured and now that he has added the odd goal aswell, we could be seeing his ascendency at last.

His big starey eyes are slightly strange but he certainly seems to be enjoying his football.

Jaysis, those RAWK lads are hilarious. Hadn't taken a look over there in a while. I actually feel sorry for them. They're genuinely clueless. It's embarassing.

Lucas is distinctly average. A sure sign of the heights their club has fallen when they think he's one of their best players. He is consistently average. I'd take Anderson over him any day of the week, as would the vast majority of neutrals. Very bizarre lot over there.

what a run. nice

That run is something we have lacked in our midfield for a long time. It's not like he is having to take players directly on, spurs simply weren't closing down tightly so rather than what we normally do which is passing sideways, Anderson simply ran into the space in front of him.

We have seen jones, smalling and Evans do similar runs and if you have space in front of you then it's absolutely the right thing to do.

If we take our United glasses off. At the moment Lucas is the better player. He's been consistent for Liverpool over the last two years and he's done well to get into the Brazil team when Anderson can't get anywhere near it.

Anderson potentially is the better player, but he's not shown it, at least consistantly yet, for him to be classed better than Lucas.

No way. Anderson has always shown he is better than Lucas. The only thing he has lacked is consistenty due to hsi horendous injury record.

It's nice to see the caf start warming to him properly. People still whinging about his hollywood balls though when if they'd have noted from recent games the majority of them have worked.

It's one of the worst Brazil team ever btw, and Lucas gets the "Kleberson" role, previously occupied by great players like erm.... Kleberson. Seriously though, who is Lucas challenging for that water carrier role compared to who Anderson is up against?

It's a crap argument anyway as Gareth Barry gets/got in the England team over the likes of Carrick, Parker and he certainly isn't better than either of them.

Lucas hasn't had 2 full years playing good either, that's nonsense, his only real good season was the last, coincidentally one of Liverpool's worst ever, one where their midfield was smashed by the likes of West Brom and West Ham.... Hmmmm! So maybe he was just the best of a poor bunch who had a couple of very good games against the top clubs that masked his poor performances against some of the lesser clubs.

It's funny how days like this ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/9404996.stm ) are now totaly forgotten about when it comes to Lucas, and there were many a day like it last year for him and his team. Meanwhile Anderson was probably United's best midfielder in most of our home games.

At least some sense.
