I know. World class players never have a bad game or two. Ever.Anyone who thinks Anderson can become world class is dreaming.
Worst player on the pitch against Southampton.

I just think he had a stinker in a system that didn't suit him, no more than that
I just hope that yesterday was a blip and the performance doesn't lead to a total down turn in form.
I have just finished the collaboration feature on the MotM page, and thought it was pretty relevant here considering the discussion on Gibson:
How has Anderson played with Gibson? - United MotM stats from RedCafe.net
This season:
Code:Together/Apart Avg. Rank Matches Anderson with Gibson: 7.5th 4 Anderson w/o Gibson: 4.6th 11 Gibson with Anderson: 8.8th 4 Gibson w/o Anderson: 10.0th 6 Average together: 8.1th Average apart: 7.3th
A sidenote: Berba's stats with and without Rooney are also quite interesting.
The whole team has played poor away, not just Anderson. Takes 11 to make a team kinda thing perhaps
You can still judge individual performances though. Has Nani been consistently poor away from home? Or Berbatov? Giggs? Park? Vidic? Rafael?

I think an Anderson home vs away comparison would be more interesting. The difference would probably be a lot more marked too.
Heh. Great minds.
The Valencia game does buck the trend and yes, it's hard to separate the individual from the collective in our away form. I also thought Anderson was the best of a bad bunch when we lost to WHU.
Having said all that the extent of the difference between his individual performances, home and away, is hard to explain.
Yes you can. But sometime one overanalyze stuff so much you end up with some far fetched answer. Anderson is a good player, with lots of potential, his good games etc proves that. Even tho he's a good player, he'll have good games and bad games. We as a team have had good games and bad games. A lot of the bad games have been away from home. A lot of Andersons bad games have, apparently, I cant really remember, been away from home. Conclusion end up being it's all Andersons fault, because Nani and Berbatov had a few good games. Not saying this is what you're saying..
Yup. I posted those stats a couple days back:
At home:
Players - Manchester United Man of the Match and Assists Stats
Away:

Big jump.

Is it just me or Anderson looks unfit again ? Had wonderful matches during September and looked surpreme... Now looks tired and tried not to run too much.
Re-read his interview and he said his Ankle injury hasn't been fully healed yet, maybe just an excuse ? But he definitely has more stamina than this and I feel like his preserving himself at times.
Maybe its just me...
maybe its just me but catching a bit of the reply of the game he looked fitter than earlier in the season.

We grabbed United's bubbly Brazilian midfielder Anderson for a quick-fire question and answer session on a random selection of subjects...
So, Ando, what do you like to do away from football?
It’s important to relax, so I spend a lot of time on my PlayStation. I play mainly football games, but I like shooting ones, too. I also play cards, watch films and spend time with my friends.
Nani plays piano, Berba likes to draw… do you have a hidden talent?
Let me tell you that Nani isn’t very good on the piano. He’s hopeless! I didn’t know about Berba’s drawing… My talents? I’m good at video games. Does that count?
Coming from Brazil, you must like going to the beach. Where's the best sand and surf in the world?
Brazilian beaches are best, without a doubt. They’re so beautiful. I haven’t tried an English beach… it’s too cold to swim here.
We can’t help but notice your tattoos. Can you tell us about them?
The one on my right arm is all the places I’ve been to in the world. It’s not finished. The one on my left arm… oh, that was from when I was a stupid boy. I don’t know why I got that. I also have two small ones – on my wrist and my neck – dedicated to my mother and grandma.
What’s your favourite Manchester restaurant?
My house! I have amazing food at home. There’s also a nice place called Osteria. They do great Brazilian dishes – it’s not 100 per cent authentic, but it’s very close.
Your braids are part of your look, but would you ever consider cutting all your hair off?
No chance! Are you joking? My hair is my life, it’s so important to me. If you cut off my hair it’s like cutting out my heart or cutting off my legs. I’d cry for days and days. It’s been like this since I was 16.
The one on my right arm is all the places I’ve been to in the world. It’s not finished.
Fresh BS from the mirror unless Fergie wansts Aguerro and De Gea in return!!
Transfer News: Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Anderson from Manchester United - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk
Atletico Madrid want Manchester United midfielder Anderson this summer.
The Spanish club are braced to sell keeper David de Gea – a United target – as well as strikers Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan.
They are determined to bring in a big signing and have Anderson top of their list.
I do not think Anderson is good enough for us. His long range passing is poor, he cant shoot for feck, he cant head, he is lazy sometimes. How can player like that be a Manchester United playmaker?
He is a good addition to 4-3-3 formation, but you can find many players who would improve us, and give that extra that Anderson cant - goals form midfield.
I wouldnt mind him being sold for a decent money.
Rant over. Just my POV.
One minute he looks like a brilliant, pacy strong central midfielder, the next he looks like the clumsiest player in the PL. There seems to be no middle ground with him, it's either all or nothing.
Like bambi
I must have missed the part in the movie where Bambi looked like a pacy, strong midfield player![]()
Struggled to get on the ball for the first half hour and when he did he was unusually conservative, but he pushed up a lot closer to Rooney thereafter and looked a lot better holding the ball well high up the pitch and bringing others into play.
He definitely was too far adrift from Rooney for the first half hour but I was thinking maybe he was worried he'd get caught out defensively. In truth despite many wanting him to be a #10 type of player in a 4-3-3 his best performances over the last 2 seasons have been in 4-4-2 alongside Carrick.
Yep agree, he's been here a while now and hasn't really done a thing. At times he looks like improving but then slips into a lull again. Just get the impression he'll never become the player we all want him to become.
I think that relates to how he seems to have a different role in the team when he's on the pitch together with Scholes. How does his stats look in games where Scholes is not on the pitch and he's the playmaker?
