Arsenal vs. Manchester United

it was easier to see the handball for the linesman that it was for chelsea´s goal, not saying it was an easy call but it was easier than the goal.

But if the linesman can't see the Chelsea incident he should simply not do anything. Awarding a goal that didn't cross the line is worse, I'm staggered anyone can argue with that, to be honest.

Another commentator that doesn't understand that handball doesn't automatically mean a yellow.

he has to make a call if he believes it to be correct,it doesn´t matter what we think, the linesman called it as he saw it,or at least how he thought he saw it,but really that amounts to the same thing.

He couldn't be more wrong, actually.

The handball wasn't blatant for a start, nobody other than RVP saw it before getting the benefit of a replay, and even if it had been blatant, missing something is not as bad as inventing something. That should be quite simple, really.

Look at the incident from the linesman's perspective. I understand what everyone is fussing about regarding the Chelsea "goal" yesterday. It was a rather ambiguous call and because of that ambiguity, he shouldn't have called it. But if you look at the Vidic incident from the offside camera, you can clearly see that his arm was clearly outstretched and had contact with the ball.

He was miles away and couldn't have seen it because he was wrong. And if you're not entirely sure you don't give it. He's invented a non existent goal.
