Arsenal vs. Manchester United

3 points against Arsenal would surely suck the oxygen out of the following weekend v Chelsea at OT, at which point a draw would give us the league, which would seem a more plausable scenario given the midweek CL tie.

the midweek match would be just to prevent a loss. We did not 'push' ourselves yesterday.
no reason not to expect teh same.

We will go all out v Chelsea I feel sure.

I doubt Fergie will buy into the complacency of expecting Schalke to capitulate twice, particularly after what they did to Inter, and what Bayern did to us last year.

No resting players here
8 days of hard work and 2 weeks rest before the finals

Arsenal are rubbish

Spurs will beat Chelsea and we'll thrash Arsenal
booya

Our run of big, crucial games is staggering.

I would have been shitting it in 99.

I get nervous just thinking about this game.

Lets hope for a win and a Spurs win!

Anderson will start alongside Carrick. nani should play.

VDS - Rafael Rio Vida Evra - Valencia Carrick Anderson Nani - Rooney Hernandez

I expect a typical Arsenal- United game.

Arsena: pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass

United: pass pass pass shoot /score

We'll field a strong team no doubt. 3 or 4 more games and we can take a break before the final.

VdS
Rafael-Smalling-Vidic-Evra
Nani-Carrick-Anderson-Park
Rooney-Hernandez

That should do it. Anderson usually has a great game against them as does Nani. Berbatov can come on for Hernandez when we need ball retention. Fletcher for Carrick on 60 if things are going well.

Giggs aside there's really no reason to rest anyone for this game as hopefully the semi-final return leg should be quite straight forward.

Vermaelen might be back for them, he's playing a reserve game for Arse (also against Utd reserves) tomorrow.

Hopefully SAF doesn't rest anyone, win our next 2 PL games and then he can rest players against Blackburn & Blackpool.

we will play a strong side..and Arsenal will give us a hard game.

If we beat them and Chelsea, the title would have been well won.

3 very important matches in 8 days. lots of good football to look forward to.

VDS

O'Shea
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra

Nani
Carrick
Anderson
Fletcher
Park

Rooney

Subs: Kusz, Smalling, Rafael, Giggs, Valencia, Berbatov, Hernandez.

We're gonna steamroll Le Arse.

van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Gibson Anderson
Valencia Rooney Nani
--
Kuszczak; Smalling, O'Shea, Fábio; Park; Hernandez, Berbatov

Berbatov might start, as might O'Shea/Fábio, Park maybe also. Fletcher could make the bench if fit, I'd expect something similar, though.

I'm going to be gutted for Wes Brown - he needs to feature in this game or the Chelsea game (both unlikely) as well as Blackburn and Blackpool (which I expect him to play in) in order to get a winner's medal if we win the League. He deserves another. Hopefully he starts this one...

I'd expect to see a different Right Back start at Schalke. Smalling to come in over Ferdinand. Fletcher and Scholes to start, maybe Berbatov. Freshen things up, give Fletcher, Scholes, and Berbatov more game time after sitting out quite a bit.

Then the likes of Giggs, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney/Hernandez can come in against Chelsea. If we get through the next three games without losing, we've done it - then we can rest the majority of the side for the last two League games before we face (probably) Barcelona.

Anderson has been woeful away from home so I'd be aprehensive if his name was in the team sheet.

Hopefully Berba is fit.

I've said before I didn't think Nani would play and I'm almost changing my mind on that. But I don't think he'll 'need' Park vs Schalke. I think the midfield this week will be structured as it will be vs Chelsea with the exception of Giggs not being in there tomorrow.

Can't believe I'll be missing this, I may not even be able to keep up to date on the score...:(

Nani & Rooney please... remember that goal last year?

Would love to batter them, but some points would be useful...;)

Followed by Pete & co claiming Arsenal had more possession.

Win here and we're good as there. Draw and the ship is steady, but lose and it'll start getting tight.

That's true, but Berbatov's away form hasn't been anything to brag about, so I wouldn't know why you'd be against Anderson so much but for Berbatov? Only four of Berbatov's 21 League Goals have come away from Old Trafford, against Everton, Birmingham, and Blackpool. His displays haven't always been awful, but definitely not worth him being the loan striker away at Arsenal in a game where we can all but clinch the title if things go our way tomorrow.

I'm sure we'll go 433 against Arsenal, we almost always do. I'm not sure which of our three main strikers will start, but I'd expect it to be Rooney (who could be put on the left with Hernandez down the middle but I doubt it). I'd be thinking that our first choice back five should start, with a midfield three of Carrick + two of Anderson/Gibson/Park - as Giggs is rested and Scholes is suspended, while it might be slightly too soon for Fletcher. Then we'll just allow certain players to sit, then break with Valencia, Rooney, and Nani.

Yeh sorry by saying I hope he's fit I meant for a different option. I'm hoping Rooney and Chico start.

This is such a hard 1 to call. I have no idea what Fergie will do. Will he rest Rio and start Smalling? Who starts at right back? What do we do in the middle? Does Park start? Does Berbs start? I can't get it at all.
